Don’t ya kind of get the feeling that Flynn would be an ideal fit in Miami IF (???) Philbin believes in the kid. And I just wonder, would a subject like that come up when Ross and Ireland yacked football and QB astrology with Philbin during their interviews?
I mean didn’t a little dinner bell go off when we hired Philbin and someone realized we were hungry for a QB? Seriously folks. These things tend to happen. It’s like, OK we hire you and you’ve got an established working relationship with a pretty good looking young NFL backup QB who just happens to be a FA in a few months. “By the way Joe, what’s your insight on Matt Flynn?”
And here’s some more sushi and chicken wings.
So ya see folks, the question is, and will remain the ONLY question: was the hire of Joe Philbin the right choice? The answer will be in the decisions he makes and the results on the field. So for now, he’s the 2nd coming of Vince Lombardi in my mind. But of course things can change. But the dude deserves at least one full season of battle experience before we start making any definitive evaluations.
Sounds like a great addition, I just don't know how we could afford him (draft pick wise) if we sign Flynn. Now that Marshall is gone, it's a receiver we have to find, and then there's the pass rush and the right side of that offensive line. Somewhere even late in the draft they'll need to find a tight end as well.
Not that I don't like Tannehill - I'm actually leaning toward a combo of Flynn + Tannehill since it looks like Manning is almost out of the question. I like the idea of having more QB talent/potential than you can put on the field at once...gives you some options we haven't had in a long time. But I digress...
One thing I can't figure out is how Tannehill is the 7th best overall prospect and the best QB not named all-universe Luck/RGIII and he was a WR at A&M until mid-jr year? Behind someone I've never heard of? Under a coach who's now our offensive coordinator? Even though he came into A&M as a QB? Could someone fill in the missing blank?

We'll if we don't get Flynn, (we won't, because Ireland didn't jump, and he'll never leave Seattle), the plan I guess is to draft Tannehill (who was a previous receiver)....and because he CAN "throw the f*&king ball, and catch the F*%king ball too" our front office will try and trade him to New England for Brady.

Jerrod Johnson was considered a terrific talent at A&M. As a sophomore, he completed over 59% of his passes for 2400 yards and 21 TD. As a junior, he completed over 59% of his passes for 3500 yards and 30 TD, and ran for over 500 yards. He went in to 2010 as a projected Heisman candidate. He got off to a horrible start, and Tannehill took over. It's also not like Tannehill was exclusively a WR. He competed with Johnson every year, and then played WR simply because he wanted to be on the field. And look at what Johnson did in 2 of those years, very solid play. He's currently on the Steelers.
Yup i remember my wife the year we drafted ted ginn...saying OMG we should have drafted that qb (((((whats his name )))) because he looks really cute.
Thats more or less like saying
QUOTE FROM SOME MORON WHO USED TO POST ON THIS SITE: His name just doesnt sound right....Because of his name i believe he is not going to be very good.

Fans are irrelevant. The only "right" YOU have as a fan is to pay exorbitant money for seats at the Stadium, and pay even more for DOLPHINS "jerseys" that won't make your Johnson any bigger. Oh, and while you are at that Stadium, you have the right to pay way too much for greasy Hot Dogs and warm Beer...while at the same time, you're probably developing malignant malanoma.
