With starts like these its no wonder we've not been able to find a QB since 2000. There is no way in He** a team can properly judge a player in 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12 starts. Now there were some issues with injuries but dam*. We've been very quick with the hook over the past decade +. The only players on this list that IMHO we gave enough playing time to properly judge are Fiedler, Pennington, and Henne.
As I have often found it to be the case, I tend to agree with you Ken but you and I should immediately seek a fallout shelter because I expect "incoming." And it won't be pms either.
Yeah, its a real shame that we missed the boat on some of those guys. Clearly several of them went on to have successful careers for other teams after we cut them. We really screwed up big time.

Nah. I still say Henne didn't get a fair shake. He needed a better coach..and a better O-line...and better WRs...and better turf...and better shoes...and better fans...and aliens to come down from space and kidnap the starters from the opposing team. If he had that, he would have been a Hofer!!

Well, it does ask a pertinent question even if the other guys did not go on to succeed. The pertinent question that Ken asks is "How much time or we willing to give either Flynn or RGIII?" Assuming we don't sign Peyton.
Any funny comments about that? That's Ken's point.
i think griese maybe deserved a few more starts, thats been farther back though than i can clearly remember.
As for Henne, i think he will go on to have a better career than he had here, still however not going to be great.
John beck... maybe... but doubt he would have fared any better than Henne.
Everyone else was an absolute flop.
"It's been fun to get the reaction of visiting coaches to the color of their locker room. Most don't notice it, but those that do are in trouble. . . . When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us.” Hayden Fry
This thread is the prove of all the scrub Qbs that have played for this team. And now that i take a look at all the trash that has been under center playing for this team makes me want the phins to trade up for a qb even more.
But it burns my stomach that they are even for a second thinking of keeping up with the same logic of bringing in the scrub over the hill qb to play for this team.
If we do not trade up and decide for manning instead it will be the same old same old. Same $hit over again.

Dolphin1423............Dan marino is a hall of famer as well. Do you remember how well dan marino played in his last year with the injury?
Huard...should have been the starter over Fiedler following Marino.
Lucas...showed a lot of promise with the Jets, got thrown into a bad situation, on a BAD team,,,set up to fail. Six games really allows him to show nothing.
Griese...see Lucas but with fewer chances.
Feeley...Caught up in coaching changes...never given a real shot.
Rosenfels...see Lucas and Griese.
Beck...See Feeley.
Thigpen...never had a real chance to do anything.
Each deserved more of a shot than they got...MAYBE things are different for this team if we give these guys more of an opportunity...maybe things are the same, we've had entirely too much turnover (coaching, systems and players) over the past decade
Samsam, I remember Marino with the injury and it was bad. Peyton is not the same situation.
Peyton's play was still at an elite level prior to injury. Marino declined slowly over the years.
Petyon will not be signed if he doesn't recover his arm strength. Marino was basically crippled and playing on one leg with zero chance of being mostly or completely healthy. Manning won't play unless he has mostly recovered his arm strength.
simply put, it's not the same scenario. Don't let past failure scare you away from Manning.
Also, regarding the list, I completely agree samsam. There is a reason those QBs never made it. Maybe they could have been average starters with enough experience and with a good team. But, are you really content with an average starter at QB? Are you content to wait out two or three years of bad play from journeymen QB's so they might have a chance to become an above average QB?

You're STILL MISSING THE POINT, Dolphaholic. It's not a question of you or I equating RGIII or Flynn as being no better than those guys.
That's NOT the issue. The issue is whether OUR MANAGEMENT got rid of those guys because they recognized they were no good or whether our management got rid of them quickly SIMPLY BECAUSE OUR MANAGEMENT IS INCOMPETENT and therefore WILL ALSO GET RID OF RGIII OR FLYNN if they don't produce "fast enough." Krunk was right in the sense that as it turns out, the decision of the management was right ON THOSE GUYS.
I think our management is stupid and incompetent and (thinks like TT) and is MORE LIKELY to screw up than to make a good choice.
With that as a premise, my defense of Ken's statistics is that all that shows me is that if RGIII or Flynn OR EVEN LUCK comes to our team, this stupid management will not give them any time if they don't produce a SuperBowl immediately.
Chren if this management invests a first round pick on robert griffin111 and a substantial amount of money which they will have to give him...........They will definetely give him time to learn the system and get better...
They will have no choice after they invest so much in him.
Just because they didnt give beck or henne which werent first rounders in the the first place time to adjust doent meant they will do the same with a first rounder.
Chyren, you and many on this board keep making the mistake of comparing past regimes with the current regime. Ireland is the only guy on staff (including the owner) that has any ties to Kens list, and his one major QB investment, he gave 31 starts to prove himself. How do the past regimes ineptitude have anything to do with the current regime?????????
