Brandon Marshall makes $9.5M per year. He has no guaranteed money left on his contract after this year. Do you really think he is going to be part of the team in 2013 and beyond? Once the guaranteed money is gone, he's gone. We pay him like a top 5 WR, and he simply isn't in that class. It's not an effective use of resources. And he hasn't straightened out so far in his career, why would he now?

In 2007, Marshall's team ranked 21st in scoring. In 2008, they ranked 16th. In 2009, they ranked 20th. In 2010, they ranked 30th. In 2011, they ranked 20th. Marshall has never been part of a good NFL offense. And that's playing with 4 different QBs. Maybe, just maybe, part of it has something to do with forcing almost 30% of your targets to one guy who has major problems with drops and averages just 12 yards per catch. And you have to keep forcing the ball to him, or else you risk him pouting and committing penalties.

Jake Long is the best LT in the league.

Anyone you draft at #2 (Kalil) is far from guaranteed that level of success.

If they did this deal, the Rams would essentially be getting bookend tackles for their young franchise QB. They could have Long and Reif Rielly.


If they stay at #2 the get Kalil.

Which is better for them long term or short term?

-The best LT in the league AND a young LT/RT in Rilley....

or

- Ryan Kalil at LT and the "hope" that he eventually is as as good a Jake Long

Frankly...that's a no-brainer.

Not saying they make the deal. Just that's what I'd start my negotiations with.

He was, in the past. He was not even close to the best LT in the league in 2011. 9 LT earned higher pass blocking grades than Jake Long in 2011, according to profootballfocus. 16 earned higher run blocking grades.

The initial singular result from my "search" on PF2 wanting Trent Green yield a result of a fight with Ghotirule. However, although the intelligence level fits the post the fact is that the Ghotirule would never attack A & O. They were best of friends.

Then I began seeing a lot of conflicts on the coaching posts between Mia1 and PF2. So I'm beginning to wonder. Maybe Mia1 has somebody putting his thoughts down on paper.....someone who is far more articulate.
