** Mare' Injures Hamstring **

The Dolphins announced yesterday that kicker Olindo Mare' strained his left hamstring on Wednesday night while doing stretching exercises following practice and is now listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Mare' missed practice yesterday and may not be able to play on Sunday. His hamstring, which is on his non-kicking leg was reported to be so painful on Thursday that he couldn't even sit in his car comfortably on his way to work.

As a precaution, the Dolphins are flying in last year's kicker Joe Nedney for a workout today and if Mare' doesn't improve significantly by the end of the day today, Nedney could be signed tomorrow to kick on Sunday.

Other scenarios include using punter Kyle Richardson to handle the kicking duties, although he was so bad in practice on Thursday as a field goal kicker that they didn't even let him finish the practice. Richardson, however, may be able to handle the kickoff duties.

If the Dolphins do feel they have to sign Nedney, they will have to waive a player to stay under the 53 man roster limit. The most likely candidates for that are punter John Kidd, who has not been able to play most of this year due to his own pulled hamstring and fullback Stanley Pritchett, who may be placed on injured reserve.

Pritchett was originally scheduled to be out 2-3 months, but his knee is not responding as well to treatment as the team had hoped it would, so he may become the latest player to be placed on injured.

** Lamar Thomas May Play **

In other news, it looks like Lamar Thomas will get his first playing time of the season this weekend and rookie Brian Manning will spend his first Sunday on the inactive list. Thomas has looked especially impressive this week in practice, while Manning has had some trouble running his routes.

According to the Herald, the Dolphins will only have 4 wide receivers on the active roster this Sunday, and if Thomas is active, that could mean that Qadry Ismail may also not see action this Sunday.

My Comments:

I have only one thing to say about this....

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
