Dolphins' News: Larry Webster and Mike Williams are gone

*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***

May 03, 1995: -- Larry Webster and Mike Williams are gone --

According to a report in the Miami Herald, defensive tackle Larry Webster has agreed to a contract with the Cleveland Browns for the league minimum salary of $178,000.

After Webster violated unspecified club and league rules this spring, the Dolphins considered Webster expendable. And with the signing of Gary Clark, the Dolphins' contract offer to him was rescinded.

Also, the Dolphins have reportedly decided not to re-sign wide receiver Mike Williams after he had agreed to terms with the team but failed a physical.

My Comments:

I guess I think that both Webster and Williams are in the same boat. They both showed a lot of promise, but could never quite perform up to expectations. Each had moments where they showed some real talent, but they weren't consistent and produced less than was expected of them.

I don't think that they'll be missed.
