DOLPHINS: Welker hurt Knee

Lex Hilliard and Nate Garner weren't on the active roster either last year, and they did pretty well this season. I'm not saying that Patrick Turner will be any good. But it's impossible to say he's a bust -- based on things that could only be observed in games -- just because he wasn't on the active roster at a deep position in his first year.

I haven't seen him not be able to separate bec I haven't seen him on the field. That's the problem. I am pretty skeptical we would keep him off the active roster just bec he can't play special teams. I mean Chad Johnson or Terrell Owens don't cover kickoffs. If he could contribute he would be out there. I don't recall where I read that but that is the rumor. Yes, I do believe he is a bust simply bec if that is the problem w/ him I can't see him all of the sudden get so much better at it. I recall Mark Duper and Clayton (Duper in his third year in fact) became great players but they had the speed and athletic ability. David Shula spent an offseason working w/ them and they improved dramatically. I remember Raiders CB Lester Hayes commenting about Clayton looking like a completely different player between a preseason game in Clayton's rookie year and their game in late 1984. I don't know how you can make a guy that much quicker over time.

Patrick Turner hasn't even played in a game yet, but you know he's a bust? By most acounts, he hasn't been playing because he can't contribute (yet) on
> special teams. When have you seen him not be able to separate as a Dolphin?

> I disagree w/ you. They are very bad, amongst the worst if not the worst in the NFL. I have no problem w/ how the Trifecta has approached this position. It is the easiest to fill so they waited until the end. Patrick Turner looks like a bust. I say that now bec I have a hard time believing he will learn to create separation over the next few months. We could use a "True No 1" and a "True No
> 2" in a perfect world but getting one guy is pivotal.
