I think you can definitely make the case that being a great player and being a great coach/analyst are two very different things (the flip side of that is that the networks shouldn't be hiring every star player who retires....which I think is one of the reason so many of us have stopped watching pre-game shows, but anyway). But Millen is a slightly different situation. What he talks about in his analyst role and what he was supposed to do as GM aren't all that much different. When he criticizes a team for taking so-and-so in the draft, it's pretty hard not to think about the irony....
