FWIW and I don't know if this has been addressed yet, saying the Dayton
Daily News is local press for Cleveland is like saying an Orlando paper is
local to Miami ... they aren't exactly that close together (Dayton is in
Southwest Ohio north of Cincy, Cleveland is in Northeast Ohio around 3+
hours away with Columbus in between)

I wouldn't have any idea what the Browns intentions are, I don't get the
thing
about them leaking this because the story was broken by the local press.
Isn't it normal for a lot of team news to come from the guys who are closest
to the team (and it's employees)?
If they are trying to dump Cribbs (which makes no sense), who do they think
they are, the Marlins or something? I'd like to see Mangina when he
presented
his plan to the owner: "Yeah, I'm going to start by trading all my
playmakers..."
BTW, Cribbs threw a pick out of the Wildcat.
OT in the Meadowlands. Go Bills.

> You're a team that has a desirable, yet unhappy player that could be trade
bait, but you're not getting a high enough offer from a team that has
inquired
about him. So what do you do? First, you leak the info that a team has asked
about him. (You can tell the Browns did this, because it first broke in the
Ohio press.) That attracts other teams, which drives up the price. Then you
leak that he's not for trade, which drives up the price.
