I tend to wonder how much of that lands in Paul Pasqualoni's lap,

never really cared for the guy having lived in Syracuse. but willing to
give him the benefit of the doubt considering the depth of our secondary.

I still think the past games prove were are vulnerable deep
don't have to look back too many games to be reminded of that fact.

It's just a troubling trend to me this season that every time it looks like the Dolphins have a chance to pull away, or put the game in hand, or gain some momentum, the defense can't step up and make something happen. Today, the example is the offense comes out after the half and puts together a really nice drive--almost 10 minutes of clock, over 80 yards, goes up a TD and Buffalo is reeling. Quick stop, get the ball back, get some points and that game is pretty much over. Instead, the defense gives up a time-consuming 75 yard TD drive to an awful offense. And later, the offense granted puts them in a tough spot with the interception---but the game is still not over if they can just hold Buffalo to a FG. Instead, first play is a 50 yard TD pass.

They don't force a lot of turnovers, they don't completely shut down opposing running games (granted, injuries have played a role in that), and you could line a corpse up at TE and he'd still get open. Again, some of that is lack of a playmaker, which has to be addressed, but doesn't some of it have to be scheme? Isn't there enough talent on that defense that we should be good at something?
