DOLPHINS: Ted Ginn in the Wildcat position?

I think the long snapper (Denney) was okay---I remember thinking at one point, "I wonder if he could play Center...."  But a lot of the blockers along the line were either shaken up or out of the game.  I don't really have a problem going for it there regardless, though.  It's an interesting situation---as the clock was ticking down before the time out, I was trying to figure out what I would do.  46 yards is definitely not a gimme field goal and so many bad things can happen on a field goal attempt.  Are you more likely to hit a FG that distance or make the 2 1/2 yards for a first down?  Either way, a successful result ends the game.  If you're unsuccessful going for it, they probably get the ball on the 29ish... if you miss a FG, they probably get the ball at around the 36.  There are more things that can go disastrously wrong with a FG (block), but of course you could also have fumble (or INT if you throw) in going for it (though that's a little easier to try to avoid).


I ultimately came to the conclusion that I'd go for it, so I was more or less happy to see them send the offense out (I probably would've run some sort of pitch play to the outside to let Hilliard or Ricky try to pick an angle to burst through for the first, but I assume they didn't want to risk the pitch exchange).  But I don't think there's really a "wrong" decision there.  It's just a matter of whether you're more comfortable picking up two yards or making a long FG---the way the Fins had been running, I think it wasn't ridiculous to think picking up the two yards was more likely.  The injuries to the FG team just cemented that.


Now, taking a time out when the Panthers had the ball with 3:00 left in the first half to conserve time....that one, I don't get.
