DOLPHINS: more Jets comments

I am beginning to think players like Sparano because he's a down to earth kind of guy. He's also stand-up and not afraid to take risks or stick up for his players. You get the feeling he earns respect for being a grinder, a guy who has risen through hard work and passion. But let's face it...at the end of the day he's the type of guy (as relayed by Sean Peyton last week) who won't sit down in an Italian restaurant unless they let him "sample the gravy." It's worth noting that Peyton really wanted Sparano to come to New Orleans and Sparano admitting he was devastated when Parcells would not let him leave. I don't think he's the most cerebral guy in the room. I think, that as long as he's the HC, he will have his WTF moments. But I'm hoping that's balanced out by his ability to keep his team even keel and keep pushing the guys to just grind through the bad times. I think we saw a great ability to do that last year. We'll see if he can keep it up now.

Patrick, getting down verbally...
