You think that Pats let pass on him?

Rick

Incredible. Actually it says the board told him "first three rounds" so that is very vague. He reminds me of James Harrison. Oh well, like I said, we're drafting Clint Sintim:).

I just heard Selvie won't come out because the advisory board that gives the underclassmen an estimate on what round they would go in told him 3rd round. How crazy is that? Whether we would take him or not, he would still seem to be a 1st rounder to me.

    OK, here is the deal:

Sintim, for now, is the one I predict we pick. He plays w/ a lot of emotion, played for Al Groh at a major college at Virginia. In fact I think he was Chris Long's roommate on road trips but that doesn't matter. He is productive, big and versatile so all those things are positives. I think he is a late first rounder so he would be about right at No 26.

Selvie is the guy I would like us to pick(which means we won't of course:)). Marvin to answer your question my opinion is he is just an all out football player. He has Hugh Douglas like demeanor. He may not be a 'fit' but he is a guy you'd love to have on the field w/ you. He has a great first step. Every game I see him play in he is making some plays. He can crash in from the outside and tackle ball carriers from behind. I love this guy and hope he comes out. There was one game where they lost and the opponent's tight end tried to shake his hand. Selvie was so pissed that they lost he slapped the guys hands away. Nasty, nasty guy there.

Sintim is probably as good a fit as any in the draft for a 3-4 OLB. I doubt he lasts to #44.

Parcells and Bryant had a blow up in Dallas so I doubt that is going to happen. THough Bryant recently said he "now" understands what Parcells was getting at (or something to that effect).

As far as passrushers, I wouldnt touch Orakpo, Johnson or Cushing (injury history). Sintim is a guy that could be there when we pick with our 44th pick. I really don't know much about Hardy or Middleton. We do need to upgrade the passrush.

I forgot to mention my thoughts are pass rusher in the first round. I just can't see Parcells taking a WR w/ a first round pick, even late. Maybe we can get Tampa Bay's Antonio Bryant(http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20081224/ARTICLE/812240353/1006/SPORTS0301).

I have looked at a few college pass rushers over the season, Clint Sintim, Everette Brown, Brian Cushing, Brian Orakpo, Greg Hardy, Greg Middleton and Michael Johnson but the one guy I think really fits us is George Selvie of South Florida. I haven't heard anything final about him coming out or not. He did say in December that he wants to come back. When I see this guy play I see the fury that Parcells will love in a player and for a defensive player he gets his hands on the ball a lot. He can the pass rush end we had Charlie Anderson at this year and be the heir apparent to Joey Porter. He should also be a fantastic special teams player.

I'm curious what you and dolfandave think of Quan Cosby? IMO, while he doesn't have great measureables, 5-11, 205 and a 4.45 forty ain't bad when compared to what is ideal for a pro prospect. He looks like a baller to me, the kind of guy where you just throw the measureables out the window anyway. Not only that, he has it going on between the ears too. Very classy well spoken young man. A little older than the average college senior, which may knock him down a bit for some teams. nfldraftscout.com rates him the 11th WR currently with the first two juniors who declared included, and a 4th rounder. I think if we got him in the 4th that would be a very solid pick

I tink most ppl have forgotten about him, it will be interesting to see how he works out (if he can) and how that effects his draft status. He could endup being one of those guys that you draft in the 6th or 7th round and turns into an instant playmaker.

As for Crabtree, I just don't see how Crabtree can go back to college football and risk millions of dollars but I guess he wouldnt be the first to do it. One thing for sure, his draft stock is not going to get any higher then it is now....

I forgot about him. They were talking about him on the Q a couple of months ago. yes, he would be very interesting. I would be shocked if Crabtree sticks to that. He will be a top 5 pick. He would be crazy to stay.
