DOLPHINS: Unger and the draft

We should never... ever select a center from alabama. Every time we take one of their centers it ends up not working out.... ;~)

  Way too early to tell. We will pick about 23-26 I guess? Right now, Mayock rates Unger the 17th overall senior.
  Then we will have a couple dozen juniors or more declare. Just my rough estimate. Should be more than enough of them being 1st round quality to push Unger into the 20s, which will also be effected by the Senior Bowl and Combine. Maybe he as a great combine and elevates himself, or maybe he has a mediocre one and slides down more than otherwise. Another thing effecting Unger will be this draft has about 4 other really good looking centers who are no later than 4th round types if not sooner. Alex Mack, Cal, projected 2nd, Jonathan Luigs, Arkansas, projected 2nd or 3rd, Eric Wood, Louisville, 3rd, and Antoine Caldwell, Alabama, 3rd or 4th.

  A team needing a center may decide to wait a little longer due to the depth at the position. All in all, right now I would guess we will have the chance to draft him in the first round and all the other circumstances effecting draft status would not make it a complete surprise if he fell to the top half of round 2. Centers have to be pretty special to go in round one. Some teams may like his versatility, he can play tackle or guard too, and go for him early than otherwise because of that too though.
  Anyway...if I am betting today, Unger will be on the board when we pick.

  Marvin;
  Do you think Max will be there when we get our first pick?
