IIRC, DirecTV and DishNetwork are high powered K band. They make up
for the small size of the dish by having the signal "more powerful.
The big dish signal didn't have the need for the higher power since
the surface area of the dish made it work. It also made it better
when cloud density was a issue for the smaller units.
