I understand your point.  I don't agree with it, but I understand it. :-)

The philosophy is that you don't take risks until they are warranted.

Also, what you don't want to do is take a step back after taking one forward. 
You've been down all day, you've fought and scrapped and now brought it to one
score and have the momentum.  Miss the 2 pointer and you give the Titans a
lift.  The smart thing is to take the one and keep riding the wave.  The
scenario you present is preparing for failure.  I'd rather prepare for
success.
