DOLPHINS: Quick thoughts

Why can't it be with Pennington?  He's not really old and could probably play another 5-6 years.  If we have another strong draft and do well in FA while continuing to develop players - why couldn't this team contend for a Super Bowl next year or year after?  Other teams have had quick turnarounds.  Let Pennington and Henne battle it out next year to see who starts

If you're gonna use record to judge whether a QB got the job done, though (which I agree is not a crazy way to do it), then Fiedler has to be in the "got the job done category" at least as much as Frerotte...  Fiedler went 11-5 and won a playoff game in 2000, remember, and had two other seasons with 10 or more wins (including another playoff appearance).  Not to suggest Fiedler was some awesome QB or anything, but I'm not sure he deserves to be lumped with guys like Lemon, Culpepper, Ray Lucas, or Joey Harrington. 

As for Pennington, I think star is probably strong.  But he has done a very good job this year---funny that the Fins seem to have made out best in the whole Favre saga.
