and to add to your point... Marshall may have caught the ball without the push off but there was no way he scores....

Your comments on the OFF PI call: watching this play on TV is a bit deceiving. If you only watch his hands, it looks pretty ticky-tacky. It looks like he merely 'touches' the DB. But what you have to look at is Allen's feet at the moment of contact. & when you look at his feet, it is CLEAR that the contact was much more severe than appears if you only look at his hand. The contact was sufficient to cause Allen's stride to change - & that wouldn't occur if it was mere contact.
So bottom line is the contact was enough to be called & clearly contributed to the additional space that Marshall created just prior to catching the ball.
IMO - it was a good call. & not just because it went our way.

Smiley's block on that play was also a thing of beauty as he pulled back side and leveled someone. Another great block we had was by Samson Satle on the screen pass to Brown - he destroyed a Bronco downfield - Dierdorf was loving it. Great game for the Fins. On a sidenote- I thought the call Off PI against Marshall was a good call. Receivers have so many advantages over DB's and DB's constantly get called for mere touch fouls - if a WR uses ANY advantage (and he did extend his arm to push Jason Allen who was running at full speed) then it is Off PI - good call!
