I agree. I heat my home in Minnesota with wood - so you can imagine how much cutting I do. You can't cut your hand unless you do something stupid...or maybe if the ax handle splits.
  If i was an NFL QB I would put wod cutting on my"not to do list" between Bennihana chef and sword juggling.

I have two tools I use to cut fire wood, an axe or a chainsaw.  If he agreed to hold the firewood anywhere near the area his brother was using either of those, he's too stupid to be an NFL QB, or maybe even to cross a street.
And - how does he come away with only stitches?  Sounds like a good way to loose fingers entirely.
There's got to be more pertinent details to the story.

If Josh wasn't the oldest, most experienced QB on the team I guess you could write this off to poor judgment,
 
But when you look for a Leader of a Team , judgment and reasoning would seem to be foremost in qualifications.
