DOLPHINS: Easy Schedule

I seriously doubt that they would ever do it, & some will call me absolutely
nuts for saying it, but if I were NE, I'd TRADE cassell. I don't think he
is ever going to be much better than he was this year. Even if Brady can
make it back for next year, as I look at NE right now, they look like a team
that has peaked with their current personnel. Believe it or not, I think
they are a team that needs to start re-building right now if they have any
hopes of 'staying on top'
& right now, the most value that I see cassell holding for them would be to
trade him. I think they could do just as well at the QB position if they
were forced to play w/out Brady by finding someone else - either FA, or
draft. Their defense is aging, & it seems like they have holes in their
offense, also.

I completely agree on Cassel. I'd be very wary of going nuts for him if I
were a team. If the reports on Brady are true, though, they may have to
keep him anyway.....

Fair point. I guess I keep thinking about this discussion about "why the
Dolphins are so much better" and others here are thinking about it as "how
did the Dolphins compete with New England this year".
I think that whoever pays Matt Cassel too much money next year (Scott
Mitchell) might just discover that (Rob Johnson) the Patriots' relatively
light schedule this year may have had something to do with his success.

But the point is, no-one says "yeah the Patriots went 11-5, but that's only
because they played an easy schedule." But people do say "yeah the Dolphins
are 11-5, but that's only because they played an easy schedule."
