DOLPHINS: Joey Porter

The last time I recall Joey Porter being good in pass coverage was when C-Pep was our QB ;-)

As someone else already mentioned it seems that the 
Fins are dropping him into pass coverage more then in the past. I think this is 
good for Porter, it has to wear you out to rush the passer all the time. Having 
said that I have always felt Porter was a one trick pony (don't get mad at me 
Marvin ;)). You guys realize that he has 9 tackles over the past 6 games (1 over 
the last 2)? To his credit he had 4 sacks in those games... And I believe that 
you have to account for him in your defensive game plan so it isnt like he is 
worthless.
 
I hope the Fins resign Goodwin, Hill and Bell. 
I think this has the makings of a good defense "if" they can upgrade the LB 
position. My dream off-season would be for the Fins to re-sign Bell, Hill and 
Goodman then bring in Bart Scott and Suggs. They could then fill the other ILB 
position with one of the top three pick along with another DB. Then they could 
address the RT and OC with some of the other early picks. The one guy I really 
want the Fins to draft is Eric Wood the center out of Louisville.

  So should we be worried that Joey Porter has not made any 
  significant contributions over the past two games and that he has been 
  neutralized largely by one-on-one blocking? Not only that, but on one of the 
  long completions yesterday, he was the defender who was out of position in 
  coverage.
