but you can't get forward progress until you come down with 2 feet.
The guy carried him out of the endzone. See how complicated it is.
This is why they need a ref-proof rule. And to Mark's point about the
refs getting it right most of the time - Again - tell that to the 78
or 79 Oilers, or the 77 Broncos who were done by bad playoff calls by
referees. Tell it to Dennis Erickson who got fired in Seattle because
they lost that Jets game where Vinny was a yard short of the endzone
but was awarded the TD.

And again - all 32 teams are playing by the same rules and teaching
their receivers how to catch.
