It could be the banner ads. They download a lot of stuff that I have no control over. I haven't changed anything on the forums in a long time, so I don't think it could be that. Let me know if it happens again.

Looks like the masses have spoken and voted against. I'll leave the thread open for a while, so others can weigh in, but unless something dramatic happens, we will not be implementing avatars.

It's a matter of time. This is not my full time job, so I have to work on this when I can and iphone apps are not high enough on my priority list.

I have been asked to enable Avatars for these boards. I can do this, but I prefer the simpler layout we already have. Boards with avatars and lots of graphics are harder to read, IMNSHO. You get posts that are half a page long with two words in them, because the rest of the posts are filled with graphics. Still, I'm willing to put this to a vote. Please vote on this topic. Thanks, C

As is often the case with me, this announcement is pretty late - I'm going to be at the game today in Miami. I'll be over at the MiamiDolphinsTicket tailgate party in the RV lot from around 10;45-11:30. That's in the northwest corner of the stadium lot and the bus is hard to miss! I'll have on my Phins.com shirt, so you're welcome to come by and say hello!! Curt

With the way the Dolphins are playing, it is likely that they will be out of contention for the playoffs by week 10. If the Dolphins are not in contention for the playoffs, I will certainly root for the Pats, as much as I dislike them. I will probably root for the Pats, regardless of what the Dolphins are doing. Seems like Bill Parcells (and Tony Sparano) are both old school - pound the ball, don't make mistakes and only pass when you have to. That used to work very well - but it doesn't any more. As for Pennington - he can throw the deep ball, but what he doesn't do very well is throw the "frozen rope" or "laser" (however you want to call it). He doesn't seem to get a lot of

When Ted Ginn, Jr first came to Miami, I was astonished, but not disappointed. After Brady Quinn fell on the draft boards like the Stock Market last fall, I figured – like nearly everyone else – that the Dolphins would grab him right away. Now, I was not particularly happy with Brady Quinn as a pick. He reportedly had problems with accuracy, had a reputation for not playing well in big

The Miami Dolphins entered the 2006 season with very high hopes for a great year. However, only four games into the regular season, most of those hopes have been dashed by a team performance that has been, to put it mildly, very poor. The expectations for 2006 were based mostly on an expected improvement by the team's offense. The addition of Daunte Culpepper, the supposed upgrading of the

After last Sunday's debacle, there is almost universal acknowledgement - even by Nick Saban himself - that Daunte Culpepper is not playing at the level the Dolphins would like to see. His decision making is slow, he's not seeing open receivers or not getting the ball to them and he's not scrambling like he used to. He is neither physically nor mentally ready to perform at 100% of his capabili

I can't help it - I'm already worried. I know I shouldn't be. I know that one game against the defending NFL Champions does not a season make. I know that throwing two interceptions, giving up a few sacks and giving up a big play or two is not the end of the world. And most of all I know that it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Still, I can't help it. I'm worried. The D

Yes, I really do think they'll be good this year In just a few hours, the Dolphins will begin their 39th regular season and I will begin my 11th as webmaster of a Dolphins' fan website. It's a little bit stunning to me that I've been maintaining my website for 10 years now. When I started, I had no idea that this would become a permanent fixture in my life. I started the website for two rea

I was going to write a long piece on my opinion of Ricky Williams' recent epiphany and subsequent retirement, but whatever I could say about his actions have already been said, at length and in excruciating detail. And one thing I do have in common with Ricky - probably the only thing, in fact - is that I want to be different. So I'm not going to bore you with another dissertation on right

Hi, Folks. It's me again. I know you haven't heard this from me in a while, and I know that some of you may have thought you'd never hear it again, but I thought that now might be a good time to resume writing "On Porpoise". If there's anyone left out there who reads my stuff but doesn't know what "On Porpoise" is, well .... it's my personal column about the Miami Dolphins

Now that the SuperBore - er, Bowl - has ended, the 2000 NFL football season can now officially be declared over. Yes, I know that we still have the Pro-Bowl to suffer through, but that is really just a postscript to the last NFL season of the last millennium. In reality, the season ends with the crowning of the SuperBowl champion. And the crowning of this year's champion has left me with ki

The last pre-season game has been played. The final roster cuts have been made. The practice squad has been formed and the starting lineup has been selected. Which means that the pre-season is now officially over and there's only one thing left to do before the regular season starts.... ... write an issue of "On Porpoise". Hey! Quit laughing! It isn't that surprising, is

With the upcoming training camp bearing down on us like a runaway freight train, it has dawned on me that now might be a good time to try and finish up my series about the free agents that the Dolphins have signed this summer. And once that's done, I'll have just enough time to do the draftees before full practices begin. Unfortunately, there are just too many players to cover completely in

Welcome back, sportsfans, to the continuing story of the Dolphins off-season of 1999. It's a story of intrigue - of suspense - of mystery ... almost (but not quite) as exciting as the opening of "The Phantom Menace". In fact, it's so exciting that I .... ... am having trouble staying awake this month. Despite the promise of the new season, I'm having an unusually difficult time just
