Landry was and is a great receiver. Wilson and Amedola don't have to replace his yardage. If we have decent receiving tight ends, Landry doesn't catch 100 balls. No way. Lets say, Landry's production goes down to 80 catches per year which is completely feasible if we have capable tight ends in Gase's 2-tight end offense. That's only the loss of a couple of catches per game. But, at the 80

Prediction: Fitzpatrick, barring injury, will have his name eventually on the Ring of Honor.

My take on Ross wanting to trade back but management pushing back and drafting Fitzpatrick is perhaps Tannebaum and company aren't the "Yes Men" I have seen so often referenced on this board. I'm not saying they don't make blunders but this instance is proof that their decisions are not totally made to please and appease the owner.

What are your thoughts on the new unforms? The last answer really doesn't pertain to the uniforms but all threads pretty much revert to that conversation so I added it.

I was wondering the same thing. I have to assume that Fasano is retiring and they want TE bodies in camp. The guy was a former 2nd round pick that just hasn't panned out. Can't imagine he makes the team. The other guy will be special teams player and depth

I agree with Ken that Osweiller is a veteran body in camp only. He is not a long term solution by any means. I think they realize that the cost to get top 4 qb is too great this year. As such, they will draft later round QB who may or may not be ready to back up Tanneyhill straight out of the gate. If the drafted QB shows himself ready in camp then Osweiller will be gone.

Amendola and Wilson each create different match up potentials for the offense. Amendola is a class veteran who will lead WR group. Wilson has upward talent projectory and speed. It's not juts about replacing Landry. it's making the offense more dynamic, less easy to defend.

Landry would excel in New England no doubt. They would never pay $14-15 million for him though. They don't overpay for players, ever. New England WR/TE salaries: Edelman $5.5 million, Gronkoski $9 million, Dwayne Allen $7 million, Martellus Bennett $7 million, Hogan $4 million, Brandon Cooks, $2 million, Philip Dorsett $2 million (source: spotrac).

I was thinking about Landry's stats etc. If we had a decent TE at any point over the past couple of years, Or even if Parker lived up to his potential, Landry's numbers wouldn't be what they were. I believe his numbers are inflated as the Dolphins lacked other viable targets.

I don't follow the logic of placing the franchise tag on Landry. Pay him $16 million per year instead of $14 million? I understand its only a one-year deal but still...

SamSam - I agree completely. Gase knew that Cutler (a known quantity) was a stopgap to try to salvage the season somewhat. Unfortunately, the gamble didn't pay off

I am all for drafting a quarterback this year to definitely replace Moore and serve as possible replacement for T'hill. I don't see any 100% sure bets in the QB class this year. If he is available in the first round, I think we should take LB Roquon Smith. We have to be able to cover across the middle and stop the run. A good defense will keep you in games even with a so-so quarterback (Vik

I think what Treasure is saying that teams can excel without a Hall of Fame QB. Tanny's return to good health is not a given. I think the Dolphins needs to either sign or draft a QB

Food for thought: 1. Case Keenum who has played for Houston twice, the Rams twice, and the Vikings has the Vikings in 1st place in the NFC. No necessarily a "Franchise QB" 2. The GM who has built the 1st place Vikings? Former Dolphins GM Rick Spielman. 3. The man credited with helping rebuild the Saints and improve their talent? Their head of Scouting, Jeff Ireland (former Dolp

A lot of talk about losing Ajayi. Last year, he was an all-pro. A deeper look into his 1,272 yards last year shows that he had 3 monster games (200+ yards) and only 1 additional 100 yard game. The remaining 11 games? He averaged only 48.8 yards a game. He is a good running back, capable of monster games but he is also wildly inconsistent as far a game stats and production. As shown by the sta

I'm not happy with the offense either. I think Cutler gives up too early when pressure is in the same zip code. The good thing is that other than the Chiefs, no team has been super dominant. there is time to get it together. FYI - Ginger Lynn was smoking hot!!!

The Dolphins and most teams these days only carry 2 QBs on the active roster. If we lose Cutler and/or Moore, there are numerous QB's that are out there that would be brought in- RGIII, Kapernick, etc. At that point, you're basically playing out the string anyway.

Stay safe S. Fla peeps. Selfishly, I hope Irma slides through into the gulf. I don't like the turn to the north projections that end up in Charleston, SC.

Before preseason, I was cautiously optimistic. Tanneyhill - season ending injury. McMillan - season ending injury. Lippett - season ending injury. Ajayi - already in and out of concussion protocol. We don't have the depth to overcome any more losses of key personnel. Things are beginning to look bleak and we haven't even played the 2nd preseason game.

McMillan's knee injury.... Ugh. We are not a particularly deep team to begin with. The injuries are piling up and its still August!

I am cautiously optimistic for the upcoming season. Already have tickets to the game at the Panthers. I believe Gase is an outstanding coach. Yes, there are questions and still positions to be addressed but I think we are going to have a good year and make the playoffs. What are other's thoughts?

I read where he said that teams owed it to the fans to try to exhaust every avenue to keep the teams in the cities that had supported them. He didn't believe that everything that could be done had been done to keep the Raiders in Oakland.

Abdul-Quddus is probably retiring. Not recovering from neck injury. We will resign Bushrod or sign another depth guard and draft one as well.
