The Bills come off a defeat by the Steelers. I didn't think they played very well and the Steelers' D won the game not their offense. Bills appear to be in need of more play to re-group and get their offense going again with Allen. The Dolphins squeaked by in their last outing and now face (perhaps the best team) in this division. I am hopeful that things learned from last week will improve t

Jones played in his first season NFL game. He weathered the storm, as they say, and will only improve. His rate of improvement may be quicker than improvement by Tua. The system and coaching at NE is perhaps the best anywhere--that makes a difference. As for Tua, we all are looking for that stunning game where he is fleet of foot, keeps the opposing D confused, completes short and long passes

I have to give Tua a mediocre "7" (with 10 being best) for his play yesterday. I will give Mac Jones a "8" for his rookie efforts and do believe he will improve quickly under NE's offensive scheme. I was perplexed when Tua was pulled twice so the bigger back up QB, Brissett could muscle a yard or two with a QB sneak. I speak of deception and misdirection to act as a ruse

"Uglier than the entire cast of the View." Now that is funny. But for that Harris fumble, the Dolphins were in trouble. I thought the domination of NE's offense by keeping the Dolphins D on the field so long was tiring them out. Granted our guys work out in 90 degree heat with high humidity, playing D for so long has to tire the guys out. The game could have easily slid to NE as th

I am confused. The last half minute of the half baffles me. The first possession by the Fins was outstanding. Thereafter, NE figured out what to look for and adjusted. We did not counter. Mac Jones is doing okay. We need to do more to throw him of his timing. The game can go either way, I just hope we can mount a strong offensive attack. Gesicki? Where is he. Does he have a cat

Applying a ruse is important when opponents know each other well. They will do it to one another to try and gain an advantage. This amounts to misdirection, play action, showing that the play is going deep and doing just the opposite. Which team can better execute deception will gain an advantage. It could mean big plays offensively and defensively. I am looking forward to the chess game betwe

Never underestimate your opponent. Know your opponent well and he will not surprise you. It works both ways for Miami and NE. I surmise it will be an interesting game of chess between the two head coaches that know each other pretty well. The rookie status of Jones is really the most significant unknown and that may be the difference on Sunday. Go, Go, Go...Dolphins!

Our Dolphins face the Bengals (away game) this Sunday afternoon at 4pm. This last pre-season game sets the tone for our first game against NE. Certainly, a concern, as it always seems to be, is the strength of the O-line. Will this group of players gel into a competitive unit? I find it tough to tell from the few pre-season games thus far, yet there's a possibility that the O-line could be quite

Dolphins are still testing the waters with all players. I too hope Tua plays two quarters (if not more). We need to see chemistry developing between the big men as well as the receivers. Offense needs to score TDs. Go Dolphins!

Little from the Panthers. Hmmm. Not sure of that acquisition. We'll see how he fits in. Hopefully he can add some depth to the OL.

"Chris will never have to buy a beer when he's ever at a Chargers game." You may be right Socalphin. I too would like to see more from Tua. He speaks confidently post-game, and that's a positive, however, I sense that he's tentative in actual play. I don't see that he's comfortable (read confident) throwing to some players. He is confident with Gesicki. He needs more practice tim

Upon review, Tua shows some comfortableness throwing to Gesicki but not with other receivers at this time. He needs to get more practice time in with other receivers. The interception pass resulted because Tua misjudged the distance the ball had to travel, its speed, and the closing defensive coverage as well as lack of comfortableness throwing to Shaheen. Intensive throwing practice to key recei

In a word, "unimpressive." I expected to see a better offensive line. Disappointed. Agree, Fields is going to be good, with a capital G.

This off-season has been a long one, it seems. Finally, the teams begin to scrimmage to see who will be starters, who will be part of the bench strength and who will be cut. Today, the Dolphins play their first of 3 pre-season "games" beginning at 1pm. I will watch it and record it because of all the new numbers with new names to watch and re-watch. The Dolphins may have a tough

Guys, this thread isn't about Tannehill but whether Tua will significantly improve over last season. He's not been given enough time to be a bust. All of us will be happy if he can move the offense efficiently and score points with his arm. Give him a chance to succeed or fail. He deserves a chance to prove himself.

Well, Socalphin, you stirred the pot. It's hard to predict how good or bad the Dolphins aerial game will be. You may be correct in your opinion that TUA is no good and then, maybe you will be wrong. I believe that we need to see how the offense plays this season. If Tua can't connect with his receivers, can't move the offense and can't put TDs on the board, you will surely have more fans thinkin

In my experience, one of two things I see from Howard this season. He is a point of reference. Military personnel getting close to being reassigned do one of two things. One, they continue to work their butts off not missing a beat despite having to deal with moving to a new location, new assignment etc. Others, I've seen go into "slow motion" and bide their time. They wind down an

Pratt or the screen writers must be Dolphins fans to include such a comment in the movie. They could have asked: "Any team in the future join the Dolphins as undefeated?" The answer would be the same (I hope). "NO".

It seems that it's always about the money. With the salary he is currently getting, he should be happy with it in my opinion. My slant comes from a military perspective though where fortunes can't be made while sacrifice and team are prevalent ideals. You know, Duty, Honor, Country. BTW, I don't think he will be traded away.

I watched both games yesterday and make the following observations. Green Bay is a very good team. However, plays called at crucial times fizzled for them. Where there was an opportunity or two for Rogers to sprint forward a few yards, and he could have, and gained favorable ground, he balked and did not use his legs. McDermott's OC missed the boat and did not have a good game plan. Defensive

Speculation can get nutty. Here's one crazy thought. Neither the 1st and 2nd team pick selects Lawrence. If he falls to #3, the Dolphins should snap him up instead of Devonta Smith. This kid is going to be a franchise qB for years to come. He's got all the tools.

Once Chad Henne left the Dolphins I did nothing to follow his movement to other team(s). For me it was out-sight-out-of-mind. When he suddenly appeared on the field after Mahomes was taken out following his hard hit, I was surprised to see Henne. He did okay and managed the rest of the game (meaning he didn't lose it). So it will be the Bills and Chiefs for the AFC title. The Bills have

TT is here to stay and will be given time to develop. (That is my opinion). He was a gamble and investment in the future success of the team. BTW, not too many investments are not gambles unless you're the owner of the great Secretariat--then it's a sure thing. Building a team of play makers to complete the air offense is a must and so is surrounding TT with superb pass blocking and run blo

Amazing performance solidifies his pick as the Heisman Trophy winner. Incredible how he moves so fluidly and gets free of coverage. The team that drafts him will be thrilled that they did. I have to wonder where Fields will go; he was predicted at #2 behind Lawrence.

That low rating has to be linked to the team's inability to run the ball consistently with our mixed bag of RB talent.

Agree that a new OC is a #1 necessity and priority before the NFL draft. The designer of plays and the play calling against a particular team, during a game, is very, very important, as important as the execution of those plays. A poorly designed play with the best execution will usually fail, IMO. The Dolphins need to hire a person with talent in both areas. The "guy" doesn't have

The Jets for some unknown reason thought our former HC would be the right guy to improve the play of Sam Darnold and the Jets team. However, as we all saw on TV, the Jets were absolutely horrible. The Jets after 2 seasons with Gase at the helm, let him go and are now looking for a new head coach. Long ago I said the Gase was not a leader and his record of getting teams to follow his "

Tonight, Devonta Smith, superstar Wide receiver at the University of Alabama won the Heisman Trophy. He is just the 3rd WR to win the Heisman. Devonta Smith will go high in the NFL draft. Perhaps 3rd after two well known QBs. If he is still available at #3, the Dolphins would be insanely foolish to let this instant star slip away. He is so dynamic of a receiver with uncanny athleticism to go

Clearly our running attack is inconsistent. The caliber of RB is one facet, the other is the run blocking. These two areas need to improve either by better coaching and learning that improves the player's ability or an upgrade in personnel. Same holds true with our receiving corps. More play makers are needed. We may have one 'A' receiver in Parker, but Gesicki is still learning and is probably
