it's not just incog. we had plenty of good players and let them go b/c our pathetic coaches couldn't handle them. imagine if we held on to Vontea (a pro bowl C and Brandon Marshall (a pro bowl WR), also Karlos Dansby has been 10x better than anyone we tried to replace him with. these are people we let go for no other reason than Philbin couldn't handle them b/c he was such a weak loser.

what is the deal here? he has not been officially announced as a hire which is weird. did this deal fall through? if so that would be disturbing since he was probably one of the strongest hires we made and DL is one of our biggest problems

biggest reason for/to like the hire is he worked with Suh before, got the most out of him, and Suh respects him

our staff seems OK. unlike with Phiblin's hires ours at least have NFL experience, not D-3 college experience. Vance Joseph has a great rep so while I would be happier hiring a guy who had actually been a DC before, he's the best of the first timers apparenty. Christenson is OC in name only but he was an OC in the league with the colts a number of years so has experience. I would really like to h

are you really this obsessed about the patriots? I am sure none of their fans give our team a second thought. I hope they lose but not consumed by it.

from a pure stats point of view he looks fine. however a lot of those numbers seem to come at the end of games in garbage time, not in the beginning. my main issue with RT unfortunately is something I don't think he can fix. He lacks the "it" factor of getting the team on his shoulders and leading them, making the clutch pay at the right moment when everything is falling apart around h

Gase was an offensive coordinator for 3 years of 2 NFL teams, a position coach for more years before that, coached under Saban. Dan Cambpell has never been higher than a TE coach and coached under luminaries like Sproano and Philbin, for one team only (this dumpster fire). But yes Campbell did HC this team on an interim basis but admitted he delegated all play calling duties and game day things l

Well, Joseph was officially hired. I would have MUCH preferred an experienced DC than another learn on the job guy, but at least the reports of on Joeseph are that he can command a room and is an up and comer. I am wary of yet another Cincy DB coach after Coyle but clearly the Phins are trying to disprove the old definition of insanity....

obviously all things being equal the pats would have liked to win that game. but they didn't want to risk injury to any of their good players do so. even national press noticed they were barely trying. From Peter King's column: "the Patriots’ Week 17 game against Miami was one of the strangest attempts at barely trying in a regular season game in years." I've come across other a

and of course Mike Sherman's next job after Ross forced Philbin to fire him is coach of a High School team on Cape Cod. And I think he's got a losing record to boot. Opposing Ds probably caught on to the "go" "go-go" thing.

seems to me like Joseph is going to follow Hue Jackson where ever he goes---which makes perfect sense to me, since he is currently on Jackson's staff and not working with Gase. How this comes as a surprise is beyond me. Sounds like Mr. Gase either was duped into thinking Jackson was a "done deal" or he oversold his ability to compile a staff. All that said, to me it would be a good th

Can't say his instincts necessary wrong re tannehill. Time will tell whether he's salvageable. But taking a first round qb 3 years after drafting on in the top 10 would have been asinine. Tell me why Ross not only kept him around but extended him? What a garbage coach

If we hired Schwartz I'd be so much happier with this deal. He's gettable but does gase not want a former hc around?

Sounds like gase is a great oc or qb coach. But there's 52 other guys thank tannehill on the team.

hiring a HC to fix a QB is asinine. To do that the HC would need to be spending all his time with the QB, in which case how is he managing the entire team if he's focused on one player? Why can't we hire an experienced HC and then hire the worlds greatest QB coach? plus, it might just be that RT is never going to turn into anything more than he is now. IN which case we just made our most import

With this gase hire it was imperetive we hire coordinators who did it before. Huge mistake. Our locker room is a mess and they are trotting out coaches in thier first jobs. How is that gonna fix anything?

Gase by all accounts is going to be named hc tomorrow. Gotta say not thrilled with the first time coach route again but a wide variety of experts and commentators praise this guy up and down as a great potential coach. So I am conflicted but if he can bring in a top dc (Vic fangio is a name I've heard) I could live with it. Also rumor is Campbell will be retained for all you Campbell lovers out t

I know you like to argue Chyren, but I can't think that even you believe that Philbin's resumes and Jacksons are remotely similar, both in the types of jobs held, and where they were held. Yes, they are similar in the sense that both were "football" "coaches" for a number of "teams," but that's where it ends.

I don't know if I've ever read a better description of what a franchise QB is and isn't. Good job.
