This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
NO! You don't cut a rookie HC the same slack as a rookie player. From my perspective I must compare it to a military installation.
A rookie Wing Commander, has held numerous positions during his career. In each position he learns administration and management of personnel and equipment. Finally, when selected for the big job, he already has the tools to handle everything. His subordinates (

Outclassed again by a more athletic team and better play calling.
OC is missing the mark big time. Throwing long when we need to move the sticks down the field incrementally. We had time enough to tie them.
Throwing long without anyone to catch deep passes--not Tannehill's fault. Expecting Bess to split the seams and out run anyone long is ludicrous.
The other thing is that when out W

There's always a chance to beat the 49ers, however, we can only hope that Martin, in for Long, can protect Tannehill from big hits from the blind side. Garner, I understand is going to play RT. Don't know how that's going to work out.
I suggest short, quick slant passes...that's all there will be time for in the pocket... RT needs to move out of the pocket to create my time to threw mid rang

Saban that SOB deserved an absolute tongue lashing for doing what he did to the organization, players and all of us loyal fans. Shula was diplomatic in his words and temperament. That's not really a criticism of him just recognizing his public image just like Marino's is very important. What was probably said in confidential circles was much more pointed, I'm sure.
I respect Coach Shula an

I don't know much about Keenan Allen, read about him, saw some youtube video, and am unable to see any special attributes right now. Care to opine TRUTH and Chyren. Do you really think he would/could become a top-notch #1 WR? If so, why?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
The legendary Don Shula could not really say differently, IMO. He's part of the Dolphins' organization. They all speak the same in public. Don't put much credence in what he would say or Marino on the same subject. Neither are known for "throwing anyone" under the bus publicly.
BTW, I don't think Phiblin is doing a bad job at all. There's room for improvement, and I sense he's sm

Not so fast. Don't under estimate the savvy of the front office. Re-signing him will occur IMO. Why? Consistency. Even though Long's play has dropped off, probably because schemes are different this year, he's a mainstay, the anchor of the O-line, and if we're after consistency and improvement in executing plays, he should be there to keep things on the right path. You don't kick off a top p

As a Golden Domer fan, I would love to see T'eo win the big prize, however, it will not go to a defensive player. "Johnny Football" is a freshman--he may not get it because of that. I have not seen him play but understand he's amazing. I like Colin Klein at Kansas. He will be a pro.

The Miami Heat provides excitement. That is a contagious thing. The Dolphins are struggling to win a game and that provides little excitement for people to latch onto.
People are fans for the excitement it provides. South Florida has many things to offer people so if one thing is a bust, they go where there is fun and excitement. Put together a string of victories at the stadium so that the

RT has talent. I watched most of the Giants/Skins game last night and saw the athleticism of Griffin. I missed the end of the game. What I was looking for was comparisons not just between this rookie and Tannehill, but between Manning, Griffin and Tannehill.
First thing I noticed was the long throws that were made by Manning, a la Tannehill, to Giants receivers that were not caught. Critic

DK--I suppose you'd be in favor of switching Tannehill to WR--he has experience there, doesn't need to catch errant passes from himself, and then maybe the Fins would have a deep threat. However, Matt Moore wouldn't be able to reach him. There's always something. What can I say.
Victor--who is left on the O line from the Parcells debacle? Just Jake right?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Could DK be employed and working? Possibly away from his computer, Ipad etc? Today is a work day for those employed folks.

Our D is better than our O.
I'm more edgy when the O is on the field. Not sure what to expect.
I've had that feeling before with Bob Griese once in a while, David Woodley, now and then, Fiedler and all the other QBs this past decade.
It's not just the QB, it's who's playing O with those QBs. It was never that way with Marino. Fans, not just me, had great faith in him, pulling the rabb

The first series of 4 downs was really bad. The long snap to Fields was shoe top, and then bobbled by Fields resulting in a short run and putting NE in great position to storm the castle. At that point I thought about going into the garage and hitting my finger with a hammer just to have a distraction from the game. However, I turned to my son, and he smirked and just shook his head.

The topic is pretty moot, but I will bite for the purposes of discussion.
Starting Matt Moore at the beginning of the season may have led to a few more wins. Let's make that assumption fact for the purposes of this discussion. Tannehill would have been on the sidelines watching play, not getting snaps, not working with the first team on the field or that much during practice sessions. Startin

Observations! Perception? Differences of opinion. All these threads collapse into sparring between posters. C'mon guys...life is too short.
The team is not a play off team--simple as that. Play from all of the players, collectively, produces a mediocre team. At times there are sparks of competitiveness. The bottom line is that the team is not going to make great strides and improve until th

Well folks, it was close, and NE had to earn this victory. While the Dolphins' offense is still firing on 6 rather than 8 cylinders (metaphor) the D kept it close. The bottom line is we lost to a better opponent today. NE was finally able to put enough effort to run the ball and mix play with some passes to ice the game in the last few minutes of the game. The offense is still immature in terms

I haven't been to a Dolphins game is years. There was a time when we had season tickets and I would share them with the people at my office--before my military service. During military service, I wasn't around to go, but watched games I could catch on TV. I read newspaper accounts...some were very short. After my retirement from the AF, I returned home to South Florida and was thrilled that once

A sack-master opposite Wake--get him. No where to go but backwards or step in the pocket towards Starks, Soliai and Dansby. Could be the person to make our D more formidable.

Luck and 3 are going to do just fine in the NFL; so is Tannehill. I have spoken--it must be true.
The most athletic of the three is probably 3 or is it III.
Each is different in their own way; all three are gifted. The problem that I see with a top athletic-player like Cam Newton, 3 and Vick--I group them together--is their elusiveness and foot speed. All three have relied on their foot
