Blaine Gabbert has potential...unfortunately he's playing for the JAGS who are currently the "bottom feeder" of the NFL. Give him some time. He can only get better.

Injuries catch up with a team--all teams. I'll bet that a lot of guys are in much need of an extra week to feel better physically. What better time to let a bench warmer get a shot to start when winning or losing doesn't mean a whole lot because the team has no ticket to the post-season "dance." Fred Jackson is on IR, a lot of other players are out too.

Not to beat a dead horse...but the play calling (Sparano) was pathetic. Add that to offensive players that seemed out of it, and you have a really poor showing. It was like watching the GONG SHOW. When Sanchez was finally moving the team, good ole Tony brings in Tim Tebow with a couple of plays that seemed to be pulled out of a hat; no rhyme or reason to interrupt Sanchez when he finally ha

The high passer rating received for the game against the JAGS really means very little in the big scheme of things. It's better of course that Tannehill played well, but it was against a very poor team. That success has to be kept in perspective. When RT is completing passes, scoring TD with his passing, and making positive things happen against winning teams, that's something to consider more cl

First off, I'm happy the Dolphins won; I'm glad the D held the JAGS to 3 points. It looked pretty effy there for a while though. Secondly, I agree this was a snoozer of a game. Both teams are lackluster overall and both have a lot of holes to fill to get better. The 2 win record of the JAGS shows they are pretty incompetent; our pathetic 6 wins shows were are simply mediocre as a team.

Lackluster. That sums up this game. No life to it--both teams. I do seriously believe we will be looking for a replacement RB during the off season. Bush just can't run through the gaps...hedges too much, dances and goes no where. We need a bruiser to run up field. The crowd is tiny.

Chad Henne,"revenge factor?" That's funny. Henne was given a shot by the Dolphins and things didn't work out favorably for him. All of us would have been very pleased if he had turned out to be our franchise QB--the guy we were hoping would come alone finally to succeed Dan Marino. Chad should be grateful for the opportunity he had here and now with the JAGS as Blaine Gabbert, who I l

Peyton Manning is one of a kind. So is Brady. So was Favre, Marino, Elway, Montana etc...the list of terrific QBs is long. Each had different attributes and players around them. There are too many variables as I've stated before to properly compare Peyton Manning and Tannehill in their respective first seasons of play.

Davone Bess has been a solid, durable player the past 5 years. I hope he feels better soon and can resume play with the team.

Some of the problems are rookie mistakes in throwing and timing; another but larger aspect is the talent around RT. It is a combination of both. Time will improve rookie errors, but only upgrades in talent (running routes, catching, catching in traffic, YAC) around him will make the two shine.

I agree with your overall assessment dolphaholic. We are generally better off than last season, but the outcome will likely be the same. I expect one more win and two losses for a 6-10 season. I also agree that there will be decisions with Bush, Smith, Starks and Long. My belief, which I'm pulling out the hat along with the white rabbit, is Bush will be gone and Smith and Starks will be

While it is interesting to look at statistical data, there are far too many unknowns and variables that can't be compared. Only actual play will show if any rookie QB is going to become that vary rare super star. Probably the top 3 super star QBs playing in the league right now are: Brady, P. Manning and Brees (in this order) followed by-- E. Manning, Roethlisberger, and Rivers--at the n

THE Truth wrote in reply to my post: "All this is is our front office doing its due diligence and checking to see if he is an upgrade." Examining into a player's skill set should start with his understanding, his awareness on the field, his football intellect. After working with Gaffney for weeks and then releasing him, I have to wonder if the Sherman play book is too complicated

The crop of rookie QBs playing almost every down this season is amazing. We also have a large group of QBs selected from the previous draft that are playing. The "landscape" is changing, so to speak. In 2011 the following guys were drafted. Carolina Panthers – Round 1(1) – Cam Newton, Auburn Tennessee Titans – Round 1(8) – Jake Locker, Washington Jacksonville Jaguars

Realist wrote, in part: "I don't want a coach that gives up...but....I do want a coach that recognizes when a battle has been lost, and devises a plan to win the war." --- Sounds like my kind of words. This is "fire and fall back time" to reference another military words. Of the 3 remaining games, I submit we will lose to NE (again); have a shot at beating the Bil

Another undrafted player!? Is this Ross' idea of improving the team? Is this another baling wire repair?

NE chopped and diced the Texans last night on MNF. NE moved the ball at will and seemed to score the same way. Brady was pinpoint on his throws most of the time. Some sports pundits say it's the NE system. That's how they can re-hire a guy like Dante Stallworth and have him perform brilliantly. Well...if NE has a "system", and they have been able to get good players to play br

Chyren, you comments, directly above, are a fair assessment of what's currently going on with the Dolphins. Well-reasoned and cogent.

I've seen the same in baseball. The better hitters get rewards at the plate on balls and strikes. Great hitters don't swing at balls, so Umps give many the benefit of the doubt when it's in a questionable location. Same thing is happening (I suppose) with Brady and teammates. Brady complained about helmet to helmet contact but didn't get his penalty. But overall, things lean NE's way on

First off, I am not dissatisfied with Tannehill. I am dissatisfied with the play calling especially in the 4th quarter of games. In earlier games this season I saw things, plays that looked odd, but gave the OC the benefit of the doubt. However, I still see the same kind of foolish calls being made. When the receiving corps is limited in going deep, and the team needs to move the ball to sco

The kid doesn't fold; it takes two to tango. You have to have "go to" players when the chips are down. Who fits that description? Bush? Thomas? Miller? What about in the passing department? Maybe Bess on short routes and maybe Hartline on medium routes. Where was Clay? Where was the mixing of run and pass? What about quick slants? No, none of these, just long desperation throws to

I'm not saying we take out all our frustrations on Philbin. The question posed was the amount of slack we give between a rookie player versus a rookie HC. With both we need to be patient; more so with players. Mike Sherman is doing the play calling. His approach seems to be misfiring badly, very badly. I'm not sure there's enough offense to win another ball game. The end zone pass to Fas

Special teams-- I give them a D for their play today. A muff by Thigpen and it results in 7 points for SF. Than we get a favorable bounce inside the 5 yard line and Freeny is not smart enough to down the ball, bounces around like he scored a touch down and enters the end zone (barely) but enough to give SF better field position out at the 20. We can't do these things and be successful. Nob
