We signed LB Derek Smith today. That doesn't bode well for Crowder's ability to play this Sunday. I don't think Crowder is a particularly great player. He never makes big plays (sacks, INT, stuff, etc), often fills the wrong hole, and makes many tackles trailing the play downfield. But, he's got a great motor, and it makes him a decent player. Anderson has done a good job as a pass rusher all season. He doesn't take Porter's place. He usually takes Roth's place. And sometimes he lines up as the LDE. In very limited playing time, Anderson has 1.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 0.5 tackles for a loss or no gain. I would like to see a little more of the Wildcat formation that we used a few games ago, with Ronnie taking the snap, flanked by both Ricky and Cobbs. That allowed for a nice misdirection run by Ricky and a nice sweep left with Ronnie. It also opens up the possibility of Ronnie running an option play to keep it or pitch to Cobbs. Well, we are in desperate of need of pass rushers, so you could see more picks on the D Line. If Porter gets blocked, there is no one else who can beat his man. It's painfully obvious when you see one guy with 14.5 sacks, and no one else with more than 3. With all the success Porter has had, he's being double teamed a lot. Someone else needs to be providing some pressure in one on one matchups. I
