These figures tell me that while Bell isn't a great cover man, he tackles very well and hits like a truck. Isn't that the job description of the better SS's in the league?

"This guy has some on the field (and some off the field) rap sheet." - really? He had NO "rap sheet". This statement is at least ambiguous, and at worst disinguenuous. "He was voted by everyone in his era as the dirtiest player to ever play the game."-really? how, exactly did they vote for that? By using their predecessor's stories?
I'm curious to know why you cho

Karras WAS a comparitive altarboy compared to some of the thugs in the NFL now. All he did was get caught along with HOF'er Paul Hornung gambling on a playoff game in which neither of their teams were participating. He also owned a partial stake in a bar in Detroit that Commissioner Pete Rozelle claimed was frequented by organized crime types, but he wasn't implicated in any way in their activiti

1. I can find no circumstance in which Zach played with this guy, so how would he know anything about Marshall?
2. This guy Marshall is unquestionably a scumbag.
3.He would be prohibitively expensive in salary, as well as having to give up a first for him.
4. Zach may have been a great player, one that I respected, but that doesn't make him an expert on personnel.
4. MikeO might be for such

I guess I'm old fashioned too, I'd rather have a device to do each job excellently, than one device that doesn't do anything very well. Besides, just try to buy a telephone that is just a telephone - they insist on sticking you with a crappy camera, at the very least.

I don't know, must have something to do with injury. He had one mildly negative week, eleven positive weeks, and there are no statistics after week 12. I guess he was too hurt to play, but I don't know how bad his injury was/is.

Probably nothing, except that the draftniks say he isn't "good value" at that spot, whatever that means. If he is productive, who cares where we took him?

You guys are completely wrong. Our biggest need is not WR, but NT. Second, there weren't ANY decent WR's in free agency this year, a fact that most you agreed with a couple of weeks ago. Mason? Most agreed that he was too old, he retired before the beginning of last season, we don't want him- but that was a couple of weeks ago. Marshall? Too much baggage, and the stats and production aren't there

Sean Smith didn't show me the ability to deliver a good hit. While we need a safety that can cover, he also needs to be feared for his hitting ability. I don't think Sean Smith is that guy.

Somebody jumped the gun, quoted a "story" without first verifying its accuracy. The writer was just questioning the possibility, not reporting a fact, anyway. On the other hand, he WAS first with the "news".

True. According to Pro Football Focus, he three mediocre games in the middle of the season, then had one mediocre-to-bad game in week 16 before finishing with a truly poor game in week 17. Not a very good track record for his rookie season.

One of the most productive QB's we ever drafted-even though he didn't play much QB. A special teamer on par with Steve Tasker, but far more useful.

I'm no draft expert but this: "McClain may be a conservative pick. But, so was Jake Long. We knew exactly what we were getting w/ Long." is a dangerous way for the people doing our drafting to think. We NEVER know "exactly what we are getting". This statement makes the draft sound like an exact science, and nothing could be further from the truth.

Now, that's an interesting idea. I get sick and tired of hearing these pampered millionaires acting like the whole world owes them something. Ought to make the police auto auctions more interesting, too.

Why are you here? Most of us are here to state our opinions, to change or modify them based on the opinions of other posters. You seem to be here to try to force your own opinions, regardless of how outrageous or poorly-researched they are, down our throats. If we disagree with you, we're "NUTS!". I wouldn't, but other people seem adamant about bringing him here. After researching him, I'm trying to figure out why. I'm not convinced.
