Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Children of all ages! It's time to play "Let's Make a Deal!", the gameshow where *you*, a simple audience member, get a chance to build your own NFL football franchise by wheeling and dealing your way through the vast swamp of NFL ownership!
Just think of all the fun you'll have - negotiating with slimy agents - dealing with arrogant, immature pl

As the 1998 season sets slowly in the west, we bid a fond farewell and say "Aloha" to the excitement and drama of another NFL season.
(Cheesy music up.... fade to black...)
Well, maybe not so fond... but at least it's over and we can now get down to the business of looking forward to next year.
And as we s

Some people say that they like the summer. Depending on their place in life, they like the fact that it's hot out, or that they can go on vacation, or that they don't have to go to school. They like barbecues and swimming pools and ice cream trucks that play those silly tunes on their loudspeakers.
Personally, I don't understand these people. Summertime is boring.
It's the time of boring sp

Well, it's been almost 6 weeks since the last issue of On-Porpoise and it's long past time for another issue.
As of today, the Dolphins have finished their second quarterback camp of 1998, I've recovered from my trip to California and Bill Clinton hasn't been accused of anything new this week.
Of course, the week isn't over yet...
But all in all, it seems like a good time to do some writ

Did you feel that breeze a couple of weeks ago? That breeze blowing from the south? It's a warm breeze, full of promise and hope for the coming year. And it comes every year, about this time...
But it doesn't carry the scent of spring - no, it smells more like newly mown grass and pigskin; heat balm and medical tape; and, of course, sweat.
And wafting on this breeze are the sounds of plasti

The Time has come, the DOLFAN said,
To talk of many things....
Of Runs and Rooks and Rushing Blocks,
Of Cornerbacks and Rings....
And so begins another scintillating (and long overdue) issue of "On Porpoise", my personal column on the Dolphins. There was a time when this was a regular feature, coming out about once a week, but this year I've been so busy with other things th

The time has come to write another issue of "On Porpoise", which I know just thrills the socks off of some of you. It certainly thrills me....
To be honest, though, I'm not sure that today is a good day to do this. This day has not started off well and anything I may try to do today is suspect.
Let me give you an example - this morning, in the shower, I got my soaps out of order.

Well, NFL the draft is almost upon us and with all the prognostication, prediction and premeditation on the draft, it seems almost pointless for me to make any guesses about it's outcome. I mean, how can I, with my relative lack of football knowledge, match wits with the likes of such NFL greats as Mel Kiper?
**SNICKER**
I'm sorry - I thought I could say that with a straight face.

I have a hot news flash for you - this has not been one of the best seasons the Dolphins have ever had.
Now, before I get flayed alive by the know-it-alls for being a master of the obvious, I have a reason for starting this way. You see, the problem with the Dolphins not having a great season is that they *do* have great talent. And with the great talent that they have, they should be having o

This is the first official issue of "On Porpoise" for the 1995 season. As such, I should probably be taking this opportunity to talk about all the great moves that the Dolphins have made in the off-season and how they're going to help the Dolphins get better and how the team is ready to take the next step and move to the next level, etc, etc, etc....
Well, forget it.
I've heard so

Actually, the way you can set your timezone is to go to your "Control Center" and click on the Options - Forum Settings. There you'll see a setting for daylight savings time and for your timezone.
Sorry it took so long to respond...

Sorry it took so long to get back to you...
I don't know of any way to highlight just new threads as opposed to new posts. There may be an obscure setting in your user settings to let you do that, but I don't know what that is....

Hi, Folks....
I'd like to know - is the Phins.com design getting too old? Is it out-of-date? Do I need an upgrade to keep phins.com current and interesting?
Thanks,
Curt
