This team, seems very similar to the 1970 team.New coach takes over a dreadful franchise (3-10-1 in 1969),basically the same team with a young struggling QB and takes them to the playoffs with a 10-4 record (2nd place, earning the wildcard). That team also had a very soft schedule. The teams they beat had a .366 winning % and they beat only 2 teams over .500 Imagine the conversations with today'

Don't know, but in-season practices are always closed to the public. Heck, even the press gets in like only once per week for a small amount of time.

They never let that Bob Griese guy throw very much back in the early to mid 70's. Take 1973 for instance. Griese's season stats: 116 for 218 1422 Yds 17 TDs 8 Int. So, how did that team do? 12-2 and won the Super Bowl.Oh, he was 6 for 7 73 yds 0 TD 0 Int. See, if you have a dominant running game, you don't need to pass very much. Is Ajayi Csonka or Morris? No, but if your RB is rushing for 200

Inactives today for Mia: CB Davis, CB Lippett, OT Linkenbach, OT Turner, TE Sims, WR Hazel, DT Francis. 2 Olineman inactive... a bit risky. Fox and McClendon are the only backups available, correct?

The grass field is on big tracks, and slides inside of the stadium for the game. It stays outside only for sun to grow the grass. I often have wondered if some joker could hack the system, and mak

actually, it doesn't matter if Detroit wins. If we win out, we are in regardless. Because Cinci plays Balt in the last game of the season, that outcome could determine which of those 2 teams make the playoffs. If Baltimore wins tonight, and next week vs NE, and Cinci wins, the winner will make the playoffs, and the loser goes home (balt would be 9-7 with a loss, and Cinci loses the tiebreaker wit

Ken, I think the dominating LB may already be on the roster-Dion Jordan. Keep Vernon at DE and play Jordan at LB-problem solved.

Orlando would never fly. Way too close to Tampa and Jacksonville. Imagine having all 3 teams in Florida within an hour of each other (guessing, maybe Tampa and Jacksonville are 1 1/2 hrs apart).

I don't like the "alleged" new logo. It isn't the worst in the league, but I'd miss the helmet on the Dolphin. As for coaches wearing team colors, I seem to remember Shula wearing navy colored shirts on teh sidelines a few times. Anyways, who cares what the coaches wear? The players wear the uniforms, not the coaches. Tom Landry never wire Cowboys attire on game day on the sideline.

When you look at the AFC East, you see 1 team on the downward trend (NE), one team in disarray (Buffalo), one team that is imploding from stupidity and arrogance (jets), and one team that seems to be trending upward with young talent, and a new coach that seems to get it (Miami). While the Dolphins may not win the AFC East this season, they sure do look like the best long-term bet for success

I have to chime in here. I read this forum pretty much daily this time of the year, and I've been watching Dolphins football since 1977. While it may indeed be true that this team may not contend, I refuse to see why the sky is falling after 1 preseason game. I have seen posts from the above poster, and I really don't understand why this guy (I guess) seems to revel in grinding every poster's f

NFL team in London? Hopefully not in my lifetime- the time shift would be too much each week. Imagine London at Seattle or vice-versa? What a homefield advantage. NFL in Los Angeles? Might happen pretty soon. If hte stadium in farmers park (?) is built, a team (likely San Diego, Oakland, Jacksonville, St Louis or Buffalo) will move there. I really doubt there will be expansion any time soon. W

I'll make my list of the top 5 regular season games: 11/5/78 Cowboys at Dolphins -Defending Champs come into Miami, and go down 17-0 in the first qtr before a 4:00 national CBS audience. Cowboys make a game of it, and Miami prevails 23-16. 11/27/94 Dolphins at jets -the fake spike game. 9/21/08 Dolphins at Patriots -the DOlphins debut the "wildcat" and humiliate NE at home. 12/2/85
