Our starting left Guard, and easily our best run blocker was hurt in that game against Tenny ... that has definitely been a factor. Gase called a good game in that he was able to adjust to score points. I do think he needs to be more creative on early downs, but we were behind and HAD to move the ball somehow. We didn't have time to keep fooling with a running game that was getting shut down on e

We attempted to run the ball in the first half, and were stuffed on attempt after attempt. The Raiders made the decision to make Tanne have to beat them. It took until after 1/2 time to adjust, but Gase adjusted and we won because of it. Gase needs to be more creative from the 1st series on, hopefully he is learning that.

We can't keep asking our defense to bail us out and play catch up on offense, it's not a sustainable formula for winning. Offensively, we have to figure out a way to run the ball, if we can't we are in trouble.

Darnold had so much time to throw the ball, it's hard to tell how capable he is.

Detroit was so bad, it's hard to tell what the Jets are. Stafford looked lost, even on the few occasions when he did have some time to throw, which wasn't often. The Lions were not able to hurry Darnold at all. Unlike Stafford, Darnold had NO PROBLEMS standing in the pocket, and waiting on receivers to open up. With all that said, the Dolphins cannot afford to look at anyone as a pushover

Lets remember Tanne hasn't played a regular season game in something like 600 days? He looked pretty good considering ... really looked kay anyway. We will (have to be) better offensively than last year with cutler. I am Really worried about our LB corps lack of speed, and ability to cover TE / Crossing routes, and catch up to plays. Someone said something about Burke needing to scheme be

15 more points per game is pretty ambitious! We will score more, but our interior run defense scares me. Hopefully we don't give up more points than we gain bet getting Tannehill back!

Before the departure of Landry, Suh and Pouncey, we would not have had enough money to sign our draft class. So while free agency took arguably our 3 best players, something had to be done. I still feel like we could have found a way to keep Landry, but Suh, as good as he was, cost too much. As far as Pouncey, great when he's healthy, but not sure if he will ever be 100% again.

This is why I think they made that Fitzpatrick pick (I still would have rather seen LB or DT). The Pats, we drafted safety because of the Pats. Fitzpatrick can cover and tackle, and will play a hybrid safety / LB role, similar to the defense they play in Arizona. Fitzpatrick will play up in the box and help on run defense, and cover RB's out of the backfield, slot receivers and TE's (Gronk).

The only opinion I'm trying to support is mine. No matter what, none of us are gonna be in the draft room tomorrow, so this is all just talk anyway. All of our opinions, I'm sure are in the best interests of the team, we don't all have to agree. Good arguments and conversation come from people who may not agree, but are willing to, respectfully, share opinions.

And with all that said, we may pick a QB, hell, we may even trade up to get one ....but I don't want to.

Couple things, and correct me if I misunderstand, but there is a lot going on in this thread: Chryn; I don't want to draft lineman in the later rounds .... I want to draft them early, assuming the talent is avail. Also, O and D lines are a unit, they play as well as the sum of their parts, so comparing the success of early round linemen to the success of drafting 1st round QB's is apples to o

Too much work to do, too many holes to fill to take a QB in round 1. Doesn't matter wo we draft, he has to be protected. doesn't matter who we draft, our defense was bottom 10 in pass rush, and INT's (related stats) and bottom 1/2 in every other meaningful stat. The QB is the most important position on the field, but even the 2nd coming of Marino couldn't carry a team that cannot defend, or get o

I'm always a proponent of solidifying the trenches. A little out of my element here because I don't follow college ball enough to give an opinion of specific players. This year, I would like to see an early focus on interior defensive line, and hope McMillan pans out at ILB. our defense was 26th in sacks and 28th in interceptions last year .... those 2 stats tell me we ask our secondary to cover

It's a good move. I mean I have no way of knowing who / if they have their eyes on anyone to replace Tunsil at guard, but LT needs to take over the tackle spot. The team needs to cut the cap hit, and move on with continuing to improve the line for the long term. Bushrod is getting a little long in the tooth too. That money, and anything we can get from him through trade, will go a long way in imp

I just read a Miami Herald report that Tunsil and Albert practiced, Pouncy and Parker did not. Parker did say yesterday that he would be ready to go, let's hope so.

Gase was Hopeful about Tunsil and Albert as of yesterday, but I haven't seen any more updates. As far as Pouncy goes, Gase was fairly doubtful.

Yeah Mizzou, I'm a little worried about this one as well with a beat up offensive line. With that said, ran well against the Jets and the Chargers, both had top 5 defenses against the run when we played them (jets were #1). Teams have been stacking the box and making RT beat them, and he has been. My fear with Baltimore is that they don't need to stack the box to play great against the run. W

As far as the west goes, Denver still plays the Pats, Chiefs, Raiders and Tenny. KC still has Tenny, Atl, Raiders, Denver and S.D., so while we still need to take care of business, the West getting 3 playoff spots isn't a lock by any stretch.

Part of the problem yesterday is that the lack of a running game really exposed our defense. When we can run the ball well, we can control the clock, limit the possessions and time of possession, and keep teams from coming back on us like that. We will need our O-Line at least 80% healthy for the Ravens and Cards.

Since we found a running game against Pittsburgh, Tanne is 6-1 (TD/INT) - 100.7 passer rating - completing 67.42% of his passes .... pretty freaking good by any standard. No, we don't need a Marino clone, we need to have a complete offensive team and a defense that doesn't trip over themselves and RT will flourish.

I haven't seen anything to indicate he is out for the season. That may end up being true, but at the moment, all I can find is that he pulled himself out of practice, and it's not looking good for this week.

I think We need 11-4, MAYBE 10-6 to get in. KC, Denver and Oakland all have 7 wins. The only bright spot there is that they all have 2 or more division games a piece. They will start beating each other up down the stretch.

Howard and Culliver will ultimately be an improvement, but they will have to be slowly mixed in. 4 INT's is good, but they are less remarkable when they were bad throws; the last 2 were basically desperation passes. As far as the O-Line play, to be fair, SD stacked the box on EVERY down where running the ball was probable. They had 8 guys in there all day long. They played defense to stop the

Lets consider this: Tanne was the most sacked player in the league since he begin his career. Some were his fault, some were the fault of Philben, hamstringing his ability to "be himself" in the offense, and most were do to a piss poor O-Line/ run game. Because of the situation he's been in, can you blame the guy for lacking confidence? Look, the team is now built, and playing in

Just saw that Rookie, Jared Goff will get his first start next week. That should make for a good day for the Dolphins D. Also, it looks like Branded Albert may or may not need surgery / rehab for his dislocated wrist (obviously).

The run game, or in yesterdays case, the threat of the run game helps him tremendously. They had 8 guys in the box on every potential running situation. O line gave him time, 8 men in the box .... BAM! we have a passer!
