Yep, Kolen was one of the unsung guys on that team like Swift, Ball Matheson each at one time in the 72/73 seasons made a key play to make that team the greatest. Man if we could have kept Warfield, Zonk and Kick. Pittsburg, the Raiders and anyone else could not have stopped us.

Regarding: Wilkens - Im happy we did not sign him. As I stated before I think his stats were inflated by his performance against bad teams. Stats were not there against the good ones. Im sure this was seen in film reviews. Hunt - Really wanted to retain him but not at the price Carolina paid. Van Ginkel - A big surprise. Vikings are getting a deal if he signs at the price that is being q

Just chatting w/ some guys from the Bmore area this morning and brought up Weaver. They said good choice by the Phins. I understand he was popular w/ the players and 1 or 2 could follow him to MIA. Not only popular but demanding, no concerns that he was not the DC (they said he is certainly qualified) and some in the org thought he should have replaced Martindale.

Weaver should be a good DC. Ravens run a good organization and tolerate no weak links in the chain. NP w/ him getting passed over. Look at the guys that got the job over him. Now he is ready. Younger players react to coaches who command their respect. They don't respect a coach they don't listen, that simple. Fangio wasn't fully engaging the player's because it appears that he really did not want

Chiefs. Swifts solid w/ me, not exactly a fan but she's done no wrong. Shows up and watch her man and the nfl can not miss an opportunity when it comes to promoting themselves. Regarding kids, the NFL Nickelodeon commercials annoy me more.

Who is supposed to call plays. Is Frank Smith a play calling genius now? Its amazing how some of these idiots calling themselves reporters today just say things w/ no knowledge of personal. "McDaniel should give up play calling", yeah. Some of McDaniel's play calling was brilliant. Most was pretty good. I think we were the number #1 rated offense in 2023. I do not want to see pla

Im w/ the Fangio just didn't want to be in MIA club. Disenchantment w/ your job breeds discontent. Guys like that start to have issues w/ their head coach, assistants, players etc. They need to go. Pro players like discipline contrary to rumors. They know it takes discipline to win. Being an ahole is a different story, having a 'doghouse' doesn't work in this day. Keeping a player sidelined in

Nope, watch some KC film, he gets double teamed when the edge rusher comes up & plays off his left shoulder. Wilkens moves further inside & faces the guard/center. I see that, its understandable. When he goes 1 on 1 w/ the OT the tackle won the most battles (my recollection). One play the tackle popped out on the edge rusher and the guard held Wilkens up 1 on 1. It was a good play by

Miami was amongst the worst of the playoff teams, I agree. I earlier posted how we won against weak team. This year we beat them and did not play down to their level. Prior seasons we played shell games w/ the oline and sucked, this year we won with the cards we played on the oline. I did not expect us to go to the super bowl this year. I expected us to go 13-3 against a weak schedule and win 1 p

Lions, my dad was a Lions fan back in the 60s plus I like Dan Campbell. Thought he would make a good head coach when he was with the Phins. I also thought it would be good for him to understudy under a coach like Sean Payton. So I was cool when the Phins did not retain him. I can root for the Chiefs too. Good to see the them reclaim some of that old glory from the Hank Stram years. That Len Da

OLine played well this season. Butch Berry did an excellent job building an effective squad for each game this season. I questioned if he was the man for the job when he was hired and he proved me wrong. We were (in nfl): #1 in total offense #1 in passing yards #1 QB - Tua #1 WR - Wilson #6 in rushing #2 in receiving yards #5 in sacks allowed #10 RB Mostert That's because of the oli

I agree, I think we have seen Tua at his best and its not good enough. Cut your losses now and move now. Im almost as equally displeased w/ Wilkens. He is too immature. He needs to channel his energies into being dominate and a team leader. I said in the preseason this team should go 13-3 and they did not. Front office has to make some hard decisions. This is a good team but there are problem

I often warn against falling in love w/ a player. I like Wilkens but if you notice he has no sacks in our 3 losses. He has been feasting off bad teams. The reality.

The person we need on this defense is Davis. He is the unsung hero of that front holding the center. 2023 our D sucked when he was out. You could see it this season then they signed Hand and he can handle the job while Davis gets a breather. Wilkens will be the Gesicki of 2024. We will learn we can live without him. Chubb carries too much dead money on his contract to let go. Its time to

I am expecting to see Wilkens walk this off season and am ok w/ it. We have some hard decisions to make and saving the oline is first. Am very happy to see Jackson get a 3 year extension today and also think the Phins agree, the Oline is first. Next up is Hunt. Williams I would let walk and draft a center (young man from UGA) and sign a f/a. Eichenberg is signed thru 2024. Then we have V

Hooligan2 is right the team's we have beaten have a combined w/l record of 5-14, we have not done anything. We crushed the Giants and we should have. My disappointment is that they were actually competing with us in the first half. They were getting some good runs on us until we forced them into the passing game. I would love us to trade for Jewell (DEN) and drop Baker at ILB. Baker has ye

A kick in the teeth indeed. Im not sweating this loss IF the team gets the message. That is the Bills are the biggest, baddest and toughest team in the AFC east and they just punked us. We have to grow up, tackle, stop screwing up snaps and kick a$$ more than we talk about kicking a$$ on D (Mr Wilkens). This team has not proven &*&^ until they can beat the Bills. Entire NFL knows this

Looking forward to the BUF game. If we win in BUF that will be a huge statement. We do have one glaring hole and that is the play of the ILBs. I was a fan of Baker but he has become a liability in the run game the last 3 seasons. He reads the wrong lanes and takes himself out of the play, lets the o-lineman make contact with which prevents him from pursuing and is just not the aggressive hunt

I would rather have Cook in MIA rather than anywhere else in the AFC east. As for the money, he should get all he can, no working man anywhere is giving anyone a f-ing discount these days. We can without him but other teams can win with him (Pats & Jets). Im more concerned about him joining the Jets than Rogers joining them.

Good post on the safety measures JC. You never know when a chip of knowledge like that will come in handy to someone. Dangers on the beach and in nature (came across a nice size coral snake a few weeks ago) are real and all should be aware of dealing with such encounters. I remember Mallet (at Arkansas) being one of those qbs who played as if he enjoyed the game. Like Marino and Kelly. Just li

Jim Brown and Gale Sayers were the 2 best rbs I ever saw. Brown was one of the most punishing players in the game. Right up there w/ Nagurski and Bednarik. Definitely the most punishing offensive players I ever saw and number 2 isn't close. Zonk was the best fullback I ever saw play the game. He really gave Brown some nice accolades, he's class all the way.

Cook can do things that no other back on our roster can do. He would make out team better, sign him. Cook and Achane will have DCs scratching their heads, Wilson is the power back. Trade Mostert (I like him) for what we can get. We are looking good on both sides of the ball. Those extensions are my biggest concern but some will get paid, some will have to wait. Its just business.

With a years worth of experience under his belt I think we will see improvement from Daniels regarding play calling and game management. Cut the turnovers. 8 games with 2+ turnovers in 2022 and we went 1-7 in those games.

Last year a lot of our UDFA had draft numbers most of these guys do not. Vanderburgh is from the U of Southern Illinois. He has some skills but I don't think he is better than anyone on our current roster. The TE from Campbell's forte is blocking so I know why he is here. I do not see the 2 players that I think will get some attention on the list. Keidron Smith (big CB, KY & Taylor, pass catc

Sheesh, this draft was uninspiring. I see the point of both picks and these 2 guys are not bargain basement types. Im thinking the phins want some insurance behind Howard and Ramsey and Smith gives them that. They do no want the season to be a wash if one of those 2 starters goes down. Crossen and Kohou are good but both are short, not really tall athletic alpha CBs. Needham is coming of injury a

SMH Jyell13, Washington, Charbonnet, Torrence & Schmitz were all there. Smith is a good corner, some had him graded as a first rounder but ??? All the above offensive players would have helped keep our defense off the field.

Jlyell13 - Yeah I just have a hard on for Charbonnet, I like his running style. Im high on Washington because he is the best blocking TE since Gronk imho. All others are better receivers. Washington was not the best receiving TE at UGA but the guy can block. Regarding experience Musgrave is the one whose experience concerns me. Not sure why so many scouts are so high on a guy who has only 2 T
