Calling it now...

...Matt Moore will be our starting QB opening day.

In the very limited tape I've seen of him, I can already tell he's better than Henne.
Pocket presence, accuracy under pressure, mobility, athleticism, were all displayed in much more abundance by Moore.
I can see a serious QB controversy brewing going into week one.

I agree, He is better in every way.....SO FAR. But I've never seen an administration so stuck on a starting Player. Henne is Ross's boy, its the only thing that makes sense. But at some point , and I'm hoping its the next Pre season game, Even Ross has to relent to a clear cut better player. He has tried hard to NOT give Henne any competition, to ultimately make henne just Suck "Less" and not play better. Looks like Nobody Told Moore. He wants to start! Go get'em Mat!!

From what I saw - he certainly has a good chance. But I'm not sure what the bottom line benefit will be. I mean out-performing Henne is no big deal. But the kid showed some moxy on the field and seemed to be operating at a speed the sloth could never approach.

So yea, I'll vote for Moore. He can't be less...

Just remember that he was not playing against the Falcons' starting defenders.

I think we should start the season with Henne at QB, even if Moore has a better preseason than him. Give him 5 or 6 games to see what he's got---if it's more of the same from last year, bench him FOREVER and play Moore. We NEED to end this year knowing 1 thing and 1 thing only--whether Henne is our QB of the future, and if he's not, he should no longer be on the team. Starting the year with him on the bench doesn't solve anything----we ain't winning the SB with Matt Moore anyway.....

Sounds like a plan. As you point out, if Henne can't cut it this year, then he shouldn't play another down for Miami ever again. This next preseason game will be huge for Henne. If he doesn't perform well, and Moore outplays him again, then the media AND fans will be calling for Henne's head.

We went through the trouble of not drafting a qb...............dont know why....either:

1. Thinking henne was finnaly going to develop this year and become good.

or

2. Thinking ahead to next years draft....Taking a chance on henne and if it doesnt work out then we pick # 1 next year.

Let him play the 16 games..it doesnt matter how he plays.....>Either he improves or he stinks.......

Why would you go through the trouble of keeping henne and then putting in moore if he plays well and we win a few more games for WTF. Getting the 5 or 6 picks instead of the first pick overall? Please.

Put henne in.....it doent matter what happens.

We better get luck next year because im sick and tired of the phins not having a good QB thats worth crap since marino......

if we play 5-6 games with Henne, and he stinks and we are 2-4, the coaches will make a change. Sticking with Henne at that point as the season goes down the tubes due to QB play is the surest 1-way ticket out of town for Sprorano and probably Ireland.

We had better correct our oline problem quickly or its going to be a long season. A rookie center, a first year guard and the tin man at tackle, we gotta do better. I don't know why they want sign Leonard Davis. Sporano is supposed to have a hard on for ex Cowboys. At least Davis still has gas in the tank.

There's only one sane reason that Ireland could have had to not draft a QB this year... his belief that there are better draft options at QB next year.. ie Luck, Barkley, Landry Jones, etc... Honestly, I wouldn't have wanted to trade up to get Gabbert. Mallet in the third might have been a decent move, but who knows. At this point, however, I think our success will be more predicated on the offensive line being able to produce holes for the running game. Without that, none of our QBs will be able to produce much.
