He's making the exact same mistakes that he's been making for three years. This shows zero growth, regardless of personnel on the field.

Different excuses, same result.

Tell me, in what areas has Henne visibly improved during his time in the NFL?

What things does he do better now than he did in his rookie year?

I am not making excuses, I am telling you to hold his feet to the fire game 1 against the pats.

I think our franchise looks like a bunch of idiots when the fan base is calling for Henne's head on the 3rd practice of the pre-season. Give the man 1 chance in the regular season, that's all I ask.

Trust me I am no Henne apologist.

People are calling for his head after two years, not after one preseason game. This isn't his first rodeo.

How many chances does he get? He played poorly enough last year to be demoted TWICE in the same season. Then he comes out and shows that absolutely nothing has changed.

Last year I heard wait till the season starts, then I heard give him a few games, then it was he will come around. Then it was wait till he gets a new O and coordinator Now it wait till the season starts, ummmmm seems like Groundhog day to me..... I want Henne plays great, I have to sit at the stadium and listen to the opposing fans cheer every week. I want to be the one that leaves the stadium happy for a change.... Or at least excited about the future.... Well I guess I can do some fist pumps for field goals...

I'm not arguing that Henne's the answer, i'm just wondering how that could be determined this early. You guys are shooting your load way too early in the "whiny fan" dept. But hey, that's just my opinion.

First of all, I am not saying he has improved (Even though his stats were up slightly last year over the year before). Second of all, I was one of many people on this board hoping and wishing we were going to bring in some QB competition for him, during the off-season; it didnt work out and our roster is set at QB. Barring any unforeseen trades/transactions we are stuck with one of the 4 QBs on our roster, so all I am saying is give Henne a chance to get through pre-season and learn the offense.

Why give him a chance? we don't have to like what we see, we can not change the QB we do not have that power, and we do not have a better option. So yes he is our best chance right now with what is on the roster. But that does not make him in any way good... I hope and pray I am wrong and he plays great... I will cheer him at the game, you will not hear me boo him, as I know what he is and expect the kind of play he has shown.. It is not his fault that the phins did not get a better QB....

He's been given enough chances. In fact, he's been given 32 chances, which is the number of NFL games he's played in. 32 games and zero growth.

At some point, the franchise simply has to cut bait and walk away. Not all draft picks are successful.

The guy has, or had, all the potential in the world, but he never fulfilled any of it. He never even came close.

Here are Henne's stats over the last two years:

2010 Miami Dolphins 15 490 301 61.4 32.7 3,301 6.7 220.1 15 3.1 19 3.9 57T 37 4 30 178 75.4
2009 Miami Dolphins 14 451 274 60.8 32.2 2,878 6.4 205.6 12 2.7 14 3.1 67 23 4 26 176 75.2

Last year he had 3,000 yards passing and 61% completion percentage. If he swaps the 15 TDs for the 19 INTs, we are Playoff bound. Do you think after last night's game you can honestly tell me he wont be able to throw 19 TDs and 15 INTs? You can't, so give the man some space.

Yes, I can.

He no longer deserves the benefit of the doubt after 32 games. For once he needs to come out and prove people wrong. He needs to prove me wrong. But he won't do that, because he can't.

Even after two full seasons of being the starter, he's making the exact same mistakes. He still hesitates. He still locks onto receivers. He still makes poor decisions. These are mistakes that exist independently of the offensive system and the personnel on the field.

He is the exact same QB he's always been: a backup.

After Last nights game????? Henne ended up going 1-for-5 in the 1st quarter for just five yards, with a passer rating of zero. Had one TD pass and 2 INT's so if he throws 19 TD's taking like you said what I saw last night he would have 38 INT's... LOL not that realistically I think he throws 38 INT's but you said after what I saw last night.... at least he ended the Quarter at zero not a negative... LOL

First 3 games of Last season Henne had 3 TDs and 1 INT with a QB rating of 91.1. Stop talking out your you know what.

I give up, be the sensationalist that you all are. I am just happy that none of you are the coach of this team. And by the way, I am by no means a Henne supporter even though I am having to defend him from you trigger happy clowns.

You're right, 1st preseason game of the season with 2 weeks of practice he should be lobbing bombs with a perfect QB rating.

You are entitled to you opinion, and honestly I hope you are spot on.... Some times when you want your team to win so bad and are sick of watching it destruct year after year you get a bit critical I been waiting along time since we won it all....

I am not saying he is our QB of the future. There is nothing I wanted more than I wanted Ryan MaLLeTT.

The funny thing is that realistic people battle this same argument every year.

After his first year, the excuse was "He's a rookie, and is bound to make mistakes. Give him time."

Then after his second year, the excuse was "He's still finding his way. The third year is the true test. Even Peyton Manning needed 3 years."

Then after his third year, the excuse was "Our line was bad, and so was the gameplan, so its not Henne's fault."

So what's the excuse going to be this year when he fails?

I hear ya, like I said before you will never hear me boo him I will cheer him at the games, but I have lost my faith in him to be our Future.. Thats all nothing more nothing less... I have hit the end, you are just more optimistic then I am, and good for you. We both want the same thing, our Team to WIN!!!!!!!!

First that was rhetorical statement, hence I answered my own question. Second I can pick hundreds of consecutive drives out of Hall of QBs with that type of rating in the Regular Season.

If we turned last night around, and Henne goes 5-5 and 1TD you would be on here clamoring his epic night? I hope not, you know why? Because its preseason!

I am not defending his play, I am trying to put last night's game in context. The game was a preseason game! The guy played what 4-5 series and after that you already know he hasnt improved since last year?

And what about the 32 games he played before last night? How does that fit into the context of "it's too early"?

Nope but I would say hey he looked good, I hope the O change was what he needed, I would not be buying a Trip to the Super Bowl, and I am not basing my opinion on just last night, I honestly do not take much away from pre season other then hey this guy was working on this and it seems to be going in the right direction, or that change did not seem to work, I just want to see things that I can say hey I am excited about this or that... I did not Jump off the Henne band wagon last night, that happened last season.... Like I said its not his fault the organization did not try and get a better QB, he is what we have and he is what we have to live with right now, so in person where the he or anyone that is part of the phins could hear me, I would never say any thing bad, but this is what this place is for to voice my opinions and frustrations and excitement. Now If he has a great year and wins the division I will be clamoring on it, and how you told me so....
