I think he is hurt, but should heal.

So, why in the world should Tony practice him? There is no need. Jake is the best O-lineman in the league, and we need him.

Really, really, really need him.

It's just, after that LONG (no pun intended) offseason, I hate to hear he's still hurt.

I wouldnt worry about it. It is just healing from offseason surgery. SParano doesnt want to play hm for a while out of precaution, it is a smart move. If The patriots game was tomorrow Long would start, I promise you... So take it for what it is worth. Jake played throuh out the year with the shoulder being torn, I seriously doubt he misses a game with it being repaired...

Its just to be on the safe side. No new injuries. The way he played last year he deserves all the time he needs to get healthy.

But I agree with the other guys too...I think this is more precautionary than anything.

I thought the injury was recent....He wasnt hurt yesterday or a week ago....He is just recovering from last year...Nothing to it...He will probably be 100 percent when the season starts.

Not having Long there during training camp means we'll, AGAIN, miss an opportunity to solidify the O-Line. It's obvious that this organization sees the O-Line as a collection of 5 guys rather than a cohesive unit. They'd rather spend tons of $$ getting the best 5 guys rather than working on getting them to play together well. This is precisely why Hudson Houck got more out of our O-Line with less talent. I'm very concerned about this news.
