This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
So I'm watching the celebrity Apprentice. I'm writing this on a commercial break.
Donald Trump made a comment that I think you can directly apply to the Dolphins.
Someone mentioned "Potential". And the Don said" Potential is just another word for LOSER." He added, "I've been hearing about Potential all my life. Potential is just a word used by people who are NOT getting it done. " Your a winner, or you are a loser.
We have been losers for almost 40 yrs now.Lots of Potential though. I wish the Don bought the Phins instead of Mr Ross. THATS the attitude this team has been lacking as Saprano cheers for the 3 pointer..........

Depends on what you call winning. Maybe thats why you seem so happy with this draft and I'm just "whining" as you put it.
Thats because I want a goddamn Superbowl. Are the Rams the winningest anything? probably not , but guess what? They won a Superbowl in the last 10 yrs. My Dad is turning 80 this yr. Will he ever see one? I bet Mad dog never thought he would NEVER see a Dolphins Superbowl again.
Whats worse........will the Jets get one before us? Too many close calls for me.
Thats one thing about this place I don't get. Facts & More facts, or the lack there of. It happened once and it was a buisness move back in the recession of Black friday, 1990. He bounced back pretty well. Learned from his mistakes and was hardly bothered by this much worse recession. Kind of the way I WISH this team would react to fu**ing up bigtime. Still worth over 2 Billion.
2 things completely lost on Mia1:
JC was just commenting on Treasure bitching about how people on here should deal in "facts" with........well, actual facts.
And dought is actually spelled doubt
I WAS open to Trump...until he started going off the deep end with the birther stuff, etc. Honestly, if you can keep him talking business and economics, the guy is a genius. Let him stay out of other issues.
I wouldn't mind seeing Trump as the Secretary of the Treasury or head of the Federal Reserve. His foreign policy isn't bad, so even Secretary of State...but NOT President!

I liked his quote and I applied it to the Miami Dolphins. I certainly DO NOT advicate he runs for President. I really hope not anyway. I want Obama out and Trump would just about solidify another 4 yrs of him.
when you file for bankruptcy you are basically telling all of the people you own money to to F off. Yes filing for bankruptcy is a sign of failure. Filing for it 4 times is pathetic and gaming the system. This is someone you want in charge of the economy or more?
this myth of trump as some self made genius is appalling. he was born into money, took that money and made some more, all the while acting like an ass and promoting himself ad naseum. now he has the nerve to insinuate Obama only got into Ivy league schools as a result of privilege or favor (I wonder how much daddy's money played a role in where Trump, or Trumps' kids, went to school). Say why you want about Obama, but he is one of the most intelligent people to hold the office of the president (some would say too professorial---but whatever, in any event, not dumb).
Trump is essentially playing to the lowest common denomintor in American society, and I am sure laughing at all the mo-rons who believe the swill he is tossing about. He has no plans to actually run for president, and is just trying to boost ratings on celebrity apprentice. mission accomplished.
I am no fan of Trump, anyone that has dealt with him in business and the way he has handled himself in business in the past, knows he is not honorable.
Would he improve our trade deficit, probably, would he help get the country back on course financially, probably. Would he destroy all foreign diplomacy we have done for the last 50 years in the process, probably.
I surely would not vote for the guy, unless , it is my only choice is between him and Obama. Then I think the business world, as much as they fear his antics and despise him, would probably back him.... It is a scary thought, I could only imagine how I would feel, if George Soros, was making a presidential bid... I am no sure this isnt just a way for Trump to get in the press, and use others peoples money to promote himself, under this disguise that he is a potential candidate.. IMO it is all just another Trump rouse...
I like the quote. But I don't think it applies to the phins. we haven't been drafting for potential. we've been taking the "sure thing" for the most part at the expense of potential---long over ryan, pouncy over a QB, etc. If we were going for potential rather than someone who can help right away, we'd have spent a 1st rounder on a QB once in the past decade +

Fair enough....but the team has so MUCH potential. So many games lost by 3 points, yada yada yada .....Thats all I keep hearing anyways.
