IMO Ireland set himself up for a tremendous blow-back down the line by passing on EVERY QB in this draft.
When the crap hits the fan and it's obvious we don't have ANY young developing QB's and have drafted only 1 (ONE QB!) in 4 years under this regime --- well, GET OUT OF TOWN!

When they leave, 10-1 Henne tags along. They are obviously sold on him for some reason.
with our first 2 picks we chose to fill our need at O-line and RB. Those needs were greater than qb. IMO only 2, maybe 3 were worth taking. Newton, Mallet & maybe Gabbert. Pat Devlin is still out there and we can sign him as a F/A. I would be just as excited about getting him than I would be if we had chosen Ponder Kapernack etc.

Hey, you forgot about Pat White! I'm guessing it's a mental block.

RESPONSE: Someone who gets paid for commenting on sports, unlike you or I, and the same as some of the draft gurus other persons in this thread are citing in support of the opposite position.

Dude I was just starting to mellow out. These Sheep around here have No idea on the oppourtunity they passed on. Worse yet, was given to a direct AFC Opponet. It was right there. We will remember this for a long while in a bad way. I can feel it. This is a HUGE F up.
Remember when the Chargers Picked Ryan leaf while Peyton goes to the colts? At least the Chargers TRIED. They took a swing. I respect that. We went out looking for 4 balls and a walk. Pathetic.

We are not talking about OL in general, we are talking about the Center position. Other than Pouncey, who carried a 1st round grade, not one other center carried a grade higher than 4th round. This was a brutal, brutal draft for the Center position. The dropoff from Pouncey to the next best Center was HUGE. The dropoff from Ingram to Thomas is very slight.

RESPONSE: We'll have to agree to disagree about both halves of that equation.
