I wouldn't be surprised if none of this year's QBs work out. They all have red flags and question marks.

According to Aqua there wasn't a QB good enough to compete with the Sloth in this draft so it must be really really bad!

Can you imagine all those stupid idiots taking QB's in this draft? What a bunch of suckers!

Good thing we got Ireland on our side...

And thats the way the cookie crumbles.

The better teams took the better players.

Couldnt even use our 6th round pick on McElroy, I mean seriously????

You get a TE who will most likely not beat out, well he isnt going to do better than Fasano and let the Jets scoop up McElroy.

We let pot smoking tokeing Mallett learn the ropes from Brady and company.

So even if him and Sanchez get injured they now have capable back ups, possible replacement QB's, while we have Brandstater. WHOHOOOO.

Could be either or but who is to say that about any position in the draft....its all a crapshoot....

They said the same garbage about Marino as they did about Mallett....thank goodness Shula had the guts to pick Marino.....Pittsburg passed on Marino and chose a lineman....thats why we have been terrible for many years.

NO GUTS NO GLORY....SAME OL STORY!

Pat Kirwan said that he thinks this was the most overrated QB class he could remember. Phil Simms said he was puzzled why so many of these QBs would go so high.

Newton- he made 300 throws at the D1 level. Of those, Rich Gannon said that only about 20 were on NFL routes, and some of those were bubble screens. He said there is no body of work to judge him on. Wasn't asked to read defenses. And history is filled with athletic QBs who like to run that didn't work out in the NFL.

Gabbert- another guy who has no experience in an NFL style offense, and little experience being under center. Tends to drop his arm slot, so may need his mechanics overhauled. Offense called for him to make 1 read and then take off running.

Locker- not an accurate passer from the pocket.

Ponder, Dalton- neither has the arm to make all the NFL throws.

Kaepernick- similar to Newton and Gabbert in that he played in a spread offense, and has a run first mentality. Will need his mechanics completely overhauled. Pat Kirwan said he spoke to a Nevada receiver, and the receiver said that Kaepernick has a strong arm, but that he is not accurate.

Mallett- Gil Brandt, who has been evaluating players since 1960, said he wouldn't draft him, period. He said that in 50 years, he cannot remember a less mobile and less athletic guy who ever had any success at the position in the NFL.

IT could be the 2007 draft class for all we know.
Such names as Jamarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Kevin Kolb, John Beck, Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards, Isaah STanBack, Jeff Rowe, Troy Smith, Jordan Palmer, Tyler THigpen.....
9 Qb's taken in the first 5 rds of that draft..... Last time I checked I do not think one of them has come close to proving himself in the NFL... Yes, not one guy.

So Just because we didnt take a QB, doesnt mean the GM, sucks, Lets see what happens..
As mentioned above, is it 1983, I doubt it, is it 1999 or 2007...

Wrong Tyler Thigpen is the best QB of that draft, toss up with him and Kolb, he has slightly better stats than Kolb and people want to trade for Kolb?

Stupid.

Look I hope we resign Thigpen, and Henne sucks and get's replaced by my man, who should now have enough talent to rock this place.

Its my only hope, however Ireland did a pretty decent job ripping my heart out this draft, so I won't expect much.sad smiley

A&O.....you always associating QBs in the draft that you dont want with Leaf.....ever think a QB you dont want could be the next Manning or Brady?

How come you dont equate pouncey as another possible Eddie Blake if your going to think that way?

***NewsFlash***

John Beck is now a starter!

In a league where most teams are starving for a legit QB of course you're going to overdraft at that position.

Beyond that, the ODDS are pretty good that 2 or 3 of the QB's in this draft will turn into real NFL players. And there's one thing FOR SURE --

we ain't got CRAP at the QB position and we PASSED on every chance in this draft. IMO that fact will definitely come back to haunt us (yet AGAIN).

I watched Christian Ponder a shit ton in college. If he was the 12th overall, this was a piss poor QB draft. I shot beer out of my nose when he went in the first

Looked like a lot of desperate teams over drafting qbs based on need and desperation....they got too enamored with recent qb success....bradford, flacco, ryan etc.
