I said this months ago that he will be the #1 pick. As the draft gets closer it looks even more evident that Newton will be a Panther and taken #1 overall. I think he will be a great QB, so will Gabbert. I think Mallett has a chance to be and Stanzi may be the steal of all QB's.
It's funny that most people think this is a down year for QB's, but in 5 years i think we will look back at this draft and all say "Wow...that was an amazing QB class". Also, Andy Dalton may be very good as well.
Christian Ponder and Greg McElroy will suck.
Just my opinion.

Your forgetting Karpatnick (I'll learn how to spell his name if we draft him ). he is gonna be great somewhere.
I really hope they grab Newton #1. If Blain Gabbert falls anywhere near us thats the ONLY way I'd approve of a Trade up.
Otherwise Its Mallet at #15 or better yet grab karpatnick in the second after a trade down or Stanzi in the 3rd. I'm not ruling out Newton, but after just 1 year its not enough to invest that much in him. I think this is gonna be a great year for QB's myself. Can we pull out another Marino? At this point as long as its not a Todd Rutledge I'm happy.
I like Cam, and I think he has the right to go 1. I just have a hard time believing the panthers with so many holes on defense and a year removed from the loss of Peppers, will go offense. Not to mention how many young QB draft picks they have on the team, who have not been given a real shot. Like Pike and Clausen. Maybe but I think they might be posturing, who knows. It wouldnt suprise me, and I like Cam, but I am not sure that pressure and team will be good for him if it does happen.
If Cam Newton goes number 1, and if you are a Dolphin Fan who wants us to get either Gabbert or Mallett at 15, you should be jumping for joy because it increases the chance that we will.
I would not have thought that Newton would have gone in the first half of the first round, let alone number 1 overall.
I dunno Chyren, I think if Gabbert does fall out of the top 3-5, he wont fall past 7. I just cant see how Harbaugh (who doesnt have a QB ) will pass on Gabbert.

Yeah, I'm not predicting it. I'm just saying that prior to this thing about Cam Newton, we had to worry about 14 teams taking two QBs, Mallett and Gabbert, now, if that's true, we only have to worry about 13 teams taking Mallett and Gabbert.
So, those wanting to draft a QB, their odds have gone up, albeit only slightly.
I think Newton will be the biggest bust in the draft. That being said no newly hired coach is going to go to battle with a dumb spread QB that can't play under center. Who ever takes Russell squared will live to regret that colossal mistake.

Are you gonna use ketchup on the crow you eat when draft day comes? Lol!
If Carolina doesnt take him, Buffalo sure as hell isnt going to take him. THey have similar defensive problems, and Fitzpatrick, I would sign to be a Dolphin in a second. Like I said, in the other posts, I think it is easy to bluff and posture with no offseason working out and Free agency. This draft should get away from the talking heads pretty fast it should be fun watching them eat words.
Cam could go, but I am sure Carolina would trade back and pick up multiple first in a second for the spot.
Poblem is they have a couple young QB's who are unproven.
Which is why in the heck would they take this guy with the first?
If they don't take a QB, and Buffalo doesnt then who takes Cam? Vikings?
I would rather say Gabbert to Minn over Newton.
Arizona could be the other team then to take the other one.
Your right top couple teams might go Defense, and 0-line.
I think though that Buffalo will prob take Newton, because Fitzpatrick is solid, but they need to fill some seat's, and fast so they need a BIG name in the draft, and so far none bigger than Newton.
I don't get the logic that Newton pick is good for Miami. It would seem to me the more teams pass on a qb the better chance we have of getting a better one....
For instance if Car takes him and Buffalo takes Gabbert then there are fewer qbs to choose from. If Car passes and leaves him for Buf then the better for teams drafting after.
It's just if I was Carolina, I would either got D-lineman, like a NT, or DE, or the top LT for number one overall, or try to trade down a couple spots, which make more sense to me if a team is willing to trade up to get Newton which is a big possibility.
