RESPONSE: Tell us what those threads are. BTW, making fun of your love for Thigpen does not qualify.

I think Thigpen is easily the best QB to start next year. I hope he is given a fair shot to do so.

HE is accurate, can make plays with his legs, and keeps plays open while looking down field. What is not to like?

Exactly. All upside and no downside in giving him a chance, thats for sure.

RESPONSE: It is not so much his abilities as his situation. This is the second team for him. He had a couple of opportunities to seize the no. 1 spot but did not do so.

A lot was invested in Henne. You have the example of Drew Brees staring you in the face. I can't see us getting rid of Henne.

If we draft another QB, even within the first three rounds (recognizing we have no 2nd round), I think that spells doom for Thigpen.

Of course, if we don't get a QB in the next draft, then I think Thigpen's chances of remaining increase but if we deal for a Kevin Kolb, then he's gone.

RESPONSE: I haven't seen the "make plays with his legs" and it seems to me that his making plays on the fly is one of his major weaknesses.

However, as I said above, his accuracy is good and his passes are neither too fast (like Henne) nor too slow (like Pennington).

But, in my opinion, he will be a victim of the situation.

just take a look at Thigpen in the last game of the year in 2008 against Pitt. There you will see him at his best and worst. He does "make plays with his legs" (his TD where he scrambled and stepped up was a thing of beauty). He's got zip on his passes and is firey. But he also threw some bonehead INTs (so does Henne)

He was just trying to make something happen. Injuries galore, he was trying to start a drive. Granted it blew up in his face, but I like the fact he took on his shoulders and tried to LEAD. He didn't just stand there with his finger pointing to his ear waiting for Saprano to tell him that it was OK to scratch his left nut.

I think with some coaching and healthy players he would grow comfortable and not Force things. Hell keep him around for the Wildcat.

I know give the man a chance, Come on College? He played for who again??? Coastal Carolina? Tell me who is playing, let alone starting in the NFL, or who has started in the NFL that played at Coastal Carolina besides Thigpen?????? Lol his college completion.. That's priceless.

Yeah Coastal Carolina is a VERY NO TALENTED TEAM IN COLLEGE!! JUST TO GO TO A VERY LIMITED ON TALENT TEAM IN THE PRO'S!!

Then to top that off he come's to Miami where Henne is golden and Thigpen's only chance to play is in a game against the Bears with majority of his team in shamlbes and was brought in the event of injuries against stacked teams, yet he still showed more promise than Henne.

F.ck out of here with this BS people seriously. Your argument's have been weighed and found wanting.thumbs down

P.S Kolb is no better than Thigpen, yet people want to trade for him?? LOL on a stacked offensive team with the QB master he put up almost identical numbers to Thigpen, who played in KC. LOL this is now on the hillarious side of humor!!

You know what I hope he leaves, and start's for another team, and rip's this team a new one, goes on to a stellar career, then laugh at all the man we should have kept and gave him a shot crew.

Get them Thigpen I believe in ya wherever you go I will root for ya, unless Jet's, Bill's or Pat's but come on..

RESPONSE: The stats say what they say. However, when I have watched him, I have seen him be accurate when standing back flatfooted in the pocket with no pressure.

As I said, that's my problem. An NFL QB is not always going to have the luxury of that.

I would bet that if one went back and saw the film behind those stats, 99% of the 53% completions would be revealed to be plays wherein he is not pressured and the 99% of the 47% incompletions would probably be cases wherein he was being pressured.

Now I know logicians are going to say that is true of every QB. It is certainly true that it is easier to complete passes without being under pressure than the opposite. However, I think the percentages are more varied under Thigpen.

But I like his accuracy (when he's not under pressure.)

berk, to be honest, I have forgotten that mid-season game against the Steelers.

However, nothing one can say is always true of every person in every situation.

Henne threw some passes with touch this year but it was a rarity because that's just not in his nature. I don't doubt that on some rare occasions, Thigpen made a good scramble.

And, moreover, I'm not talking about what a QB does in the red zone. I'm talking about what he does from the 20 to the other 20, when a first down is needed and the drive needs to be kept alive, the protection has broken down, and the quarterback is "on his own." I've seen Thigpen go to pieces in that situation far too often. I have seen Henne pull it out on a minority of the occasions. I think you are forgetting the numerous times that Henne did make positive yardage with his feet.

But I recognize that in those situations, people were probably so pissed at Henne for not throwing the ball earlier, they (understandably) were in no mood to sit back and compliment him for making the best of what they considered to be a bad situation that he himself created.

A QB that is accurate when not under pressure. That describes 95% of the QBs in the NFL. It's how you play under pressure that really counts. That's what made Marino so great. Pressure him and he made you pay. I'd love to have a QB that could do that. If Mallet could work on his footwork, he could do that!

So when I make some point's then people start resorting to personal attacks now? Having a ruff day or somthing?

You gave no reason to why he is inaccurate, yet you have the audacity to crucify my opinion, because I have seen somthing you havnt.

Your entitled to your own opinion, I just feel your wrong on your evaluation of Thigpen.

However the differance between you and me, is I don't have to call you crazy, and a idiot to get my point accross.

What I really Like about Thigpen over Henne..........We have alot less invested in Thiggy as opposed to henne, and I see a much bigger upside.

I think becuase we have so much invested in him is why he gets all the starts and all the chances. This summer I think finally , henne blew all that. If Thiggy gets the chance to go head to head, Henne will be holding the clip board in the end.

That is just my opinion though granted. But one I make from the standpoint of having watched Henne over and over F**k the football like a lame monkey and having VERY limited chance to see thiggy do what he can do with a healthy first line offense.

Much higher likelihood that Henna is released after we draft 2 QB’s and add a UFA.

Henna is a USDA certified sloth and was obviously a horrible pick. With years wasted on him (with NO OTHER QB’s drafted) we’re in the deep dark muck of sloth stench.

Thigpen is a vastly superior athlete but he seems cursed with pinball mind…

Out.
