Except for the shape of his gut, I don't see the comparison

First of all, the legend of Ruth pointing to the outfield wall he was going to hit the ball over, has been disproven soundly. Pitchers were interviewed after Ruth's death when that b.s. legend started. They consistently refuted that story, and consistently stated that if Ruth (or any batter) would have done such an arrogant thing as they approached the plate, the first pitch would have been a beanball to end all beanballs. And I believe them.

To help Ryan's case, he does have a pot belly as did Ruth, so he's got that going for him. Plus, he's associated with a team from N.Y. But that's about it. There are so many dissimilarities between the two:

Ruth was a proven winner. Ryan is a proven loser.

Ruth was a womanizer, Ryan is happily married to what must be a very masochistic saint of a woman.

Ruth, after indulging in one of his favorite pastimes (drinking), discarded a piano into Willis Pond. Ryan, after doing his favorite pastime (eating) regularly discharges feces into the Hudson River.

Ruth was given to New York by a very very stupid team in Massachusetts who went on to suffer 86 years without a title. WHY THE HELL CAN'T RYAN AT LEAST DO THE SAME TO THE PATRIOTS!

I think what he was meaning to say was that he compares himself to a Baby Ruth by Nestle composed primarily of rich chocolate, caramel, and nouget.

7-9...........YES. They need to implode. That hard Knocks show along with his predictions really sent the Jets fans over the Top this year. He really had them convinced it was a done deal. Winning those 2 Playoff games really built them up for an awesome letdown during the AFC championship. Seeing him hurl those headphones at the end of the game was priceless.
