I want a QB who will be a Franchise QB, Palmer and Orton would be gatekeepers.

I've used the term for re-cycled coaches. But it definitely applies to journeymen QBs whose potential is obviously mediocre.

I agree with the roll-the-dice-during-the-draft QB strategy.

Could be just a roose for draft stragedy. No one can sign free agents now so make them think your not interested in the Top 3 prospects. I think if Cam Newton or Mallet fall to 15 we will grab him. if we can pretend we don't care that might just happen.

No trades until the player's and owners get it together. Armando Salguero is an idiot that should be covering middle school soccer not the NFL. He is no Ed Pope. The best we could do if we acquired a veteran is McNabb.

Just a few weeks ago people on this board said we should offer a first for Palmer.

I read in SI.com today that a team has already offered a 1st for Kevin Kolb (probably SEA at 25). Philly is holding out for a higer first. Man how dumb can teams be if they are offering a high pick for this guy, who will be AJ Feely all over again. I hope we are not that stupid, but you never know. Funny how Philly always seems to have an extra QB laying around they can get a #1 for, while we can't get even 1 QB worth anything if our lives depended on it.

As for Palmer, I'd consider trading a 3d for him, but no more than that (and I wouldn't even be so happy if we did that deal).

There is no way we would trade for Carson Palmer unless he restructured his contract. His current contract is ridiculous.

Philly is retarded if they don't take the offer for Kolb.

25th overall pick for a guy they don't intend on playing? Yeah in a heartbeat.

Especially since there are so many solid back up's available on the F/A.

Send a case of oranges to Cincinnati for Palmer
that's enough.

Carson was great at SC but he had a great team around him. He was unable to perform at Cincy even at times when he had just a "pretty good" team behind him.

As such, that leads me to believe that he was never reall a "great" QB, even at USC, but was just a competent QB who was behind a very great college team.

He makes good decision's but after his arm surgery, he lost some umph in his throws, which leaded to ALOT of INTS, go look at the film his passes soar.

I thing Palmer can be a top qb again in the right system but no way we can afford to give up draft picks in the first 3 rounds.

We still HAVE to draft a qb for the future and somehow grab a FA qb.

This union limbo really sux for us fans!

Don't have to draft s.it at QB. Not a great class of QB's to begin with.

Pretty bad when a guy with Newton's skill sets is regarded as one of the top QB's.

Enough F/A QB's out there this year, also with a healthy team, added speed at wr, RB, and a revamped 0-line, Henne would do ok anyways.

Build up our O-line double down in the draft, and lets boogie.

Dogging on newtons skill set really?? They are awesome. Its the lack of experience and maturity issue that are his major down falls.

Didnt mean to come off like that, its just that anytime a trade or Free Agency or anything else comes up, someone says "cant do anything until the CBA...". I am pretty sure that everybody realizes that. Thats all I was trying to say.

Problem with this team, is that our coach is desperate and probably willing to sacrifice the future (draft picks and cap space) in order to win now. Moreso, is Palmer really that superior to Henne? Seems to me, the guy was an INT machine the last few years and not even close to playing like a franchise QB.
Build thru the draft....dump Sparano and hire a capable HC!

And we ALL know how good those GUARANTEES are. See Rex Ryan...or Nick Saban.

ross' comment is asinine and if he means it we are in more trouble than we thought. sporano and ireland have done nothing to earn a "guarantee" of being here after next year (they are lucky to have jobs IMO)---see the fact that sporano was all but fired when ross went to CA to hire harbaugh before being turned down. now he's saying that no matter the performance next year, they will be here the following season no matter what as long as they bring in young players who need time to develop (i.e., almost any young player)? And now we got Sporano saying we will still be a run first team no matter what (despite our weak O Line and no RB on the team and where that outdated scheme has gotten us the last 2 years). This team is run by buffoons.

Whats awsome? He's not blazing fast, he has horrible 3 to 7 foot drop backs, his accurancy in the pocket is shaky at times, and like you said he is imature, and deff one of the dumber QB's in the draft, why don't anyone state his wounderlic score, eithre he hasnt taken it yet, because he would prob score a 8 or 10 on it.

Whooo he can throw on the run, and is big enough to run it for first down's, he is alot like McNabb, but with a more questionable pockett awareness, and how many SB ring's does McNabb have?????????
