Am I the only one that is completely and utterly unimpressed with the stock of QB's in this year's draft? It just looks like an awful year to me. The kind of year that sees Jamarcus Russell go #1 overall just because he's big and there isn't anyone else.
I mean, I'm really starting to get a 2007 John Beck, Trent Edwards, Brady Quinn, Drew Stanton kind of feel to this draft.
Don't get me wrong, I want a new Quarterback, but I don't think we should pull the trigger on somebody just because they happen to play that position. Seriously, are any of you drooling over any of these guys? Is anybody hoping and praying any one of them in particular falls to us at 15 or that we trade up to get our man? Or is everyone about as passionate about our options at QB in this draft as they are deciding between the soup or the salad at lunch. It sounds more like the latter to me. I keep hearing:
"I wouldn't be furious if we took..."
"It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we picked up..."
"I don't think it would be a bad idea to trade up to get.."
"I think we pretty much have to grab ____ if he's available"
In recent memory I can't remember looking forward to a draft as little as I have been this one. Mostly I think because the one position we all seem to agree we need a huge upgrade at (QB ), an upgrade that given the rest of our team, could launch us into serious contender status, just doesn't look promising this year.
Could somebody please cheer me up about this....

this is a D heavy draft. We are targeting O and QBs this year, and the draft is weak there. If we needed a DL I think we could get a good one at 15. Unfortnately in a year where there were great TEs last year and offensive talent all over the place, we traded down and took a DE and LB. Par for the course with this team....

I still don't know what people seem to see in Stanzi.
I think and have heard rumors of us leaning toward Locker, the better athlete, although mallet's off the field bad press rumors sure remind me of Marino!
