Who at 15 is going to put points on the board other than him?
A defensive end-no, a center or guard-no, a running back possible,
a wr, maybe. If you find some one to throw him the ball.
I'm on hold w/ Mallett right now. I want more assurances that he is not a character risks. This stuff was popping up last year and I do not want a Ryan Leaf. I did not like what he did at the combine interview.

The good news is, as one guy rises, someone else falls. Even with his performance, Mallet still has a ton of questions surrounding him. It's those kinds of things that caused guys like Aaron Rodgers and Marino to fall.

RESPONSE: Careful, careful. Thigpen's boy-toy, otherwise known as Mia1, takes "impressed with" to mean Gay attraction. You can just imagine what he will do with the world "Love."
We will never be a top-notch team until we have a top-notch quarterback. If Mallet is one, then we should take him. At this point, I tend to think he will be a good one. So, as of today, I would pick him.
Kiper said our staff can't wait on developing a quarterback or else. However, if they don't get one then they have no future anyhow.
As for drafting Watt, I can't think of a position that would piss me off more. Enough with the DE spot already.
"A week ago you and as you put it "most experts" had him in the "2nd or 3rd round".
Now he's a top ten?"

Most experts do, but I think if Gabbert and Newton go in the top 3, a run on QB's will start to take place. I then think Mallett has a real shot at the top 10.
Well, Rudolph is a 1st round pick, if he didnt have the injury last year he may have been a mid-first round pick, so my prediction wasnt too terribly off 2 or 3 years ago.
At this point there are 3-4 really good prospects that may fall to 15. Mallet is one. Newton and Locker are others. Who is really glad we lost those last 2 games now? I just hope one is left . if Irlend has a boner for 1 special one , and that person hits 11-12.....I wouldn't mind a next years draft pick to go after him like the Jets did for Sanchez.
Thank you Berkeley. I was going to say that desperation type of thinking, get's you no where fast. Good god you want the next Mathew Stafford?
Great talent sure!!! Cant stay healthy, because?????????? Oh yeah his O-line SUCKS!!!
Look towards the Lions draft's, they just go out and get shiney players, and they still suck, because between the trench's they get there butt kicked on a weekly basis.
I want elite 0, and D line first and foremost! Then elite QB,LB, WR, CB,S,TE,RB.
Build around that mentallity, and your team will compete every year!
I already won the bet about him not being top 5....or top ten...or...."

Come on buddy, you are reaching low with that one. He was the best player on a terrible team, and on top of that he only played half of last season. If Rudolph would have stayed healthy, he would be a lock for the 1st round.

Well, sure, it's easy to make that call AFTER the draft. Brady was worth trading up for, but any GM who traded up to take him in the high first round would be taking the short bus back home.
but this year, every QB has huge questions. There isn't one comparable to even Sam Bradford last year.
whats better than taking MALLETT #15? --->
trading down to C/G POUNCEY range, picking up a 2nd round RB, and using our 3rd rounder (maybe a trade-up) for QB KAPERNICK or PONDER

I could go for that. I'd DEFINITELY pick Kapernick or Ponder over Stanzi.
