But most importantly, I hope Casey Matthews is a Dolphin on draft day. He is my "draft crush" this year, as DeSean Jackson was a couple years ago.

If he is available in the second round take him if we trade down.

NE if they don't trade UP to acquire Gabbert could consider Mallett?

I love how they point out that he makes bad decisions when pressured in the pocket. The question I have is how often does he make GOOD, compared to bad, decisions when pressured. There isn't a QB in existence that didn't make bad decisions from time-to-time when pressured. Bad decisions could mean a bad throw or taking a sack. Our QBs have been making bad decisions for as long as I can remember!

The fact that they are having lunch with him publically and seem to be digging this kid makes me smell a Rat. Why would Miami show their draft hand like that? Could this lunch thing be a giant diversion?

Well this could be the "move" that makes another team pull the trigger on a trade down.

Make's sense to me, and if for some unseen reason he would be there when we traded down, then I think they would take him.

It was definitely a "move" of some sort, I'm just trying to figure out what it was. It just doesn't make sense that you would go out to lunch publically with a draftee when you can order lunch in anytime. Unless you are sending a message. Whats the message? 0_0

It say's if you like Mallett, then give us your second, and late first round pick!!!

I gotcha. Very possibly. If that was the case I'd like to think that Saprano and Irlend are not that high on him to begin with. Don't give up the guy that may give us the best option at QB in a decade , just to land another draft pick. Only Pass on a QB in the first round if your guy will be available in the 2nd or 3rd. (hopefully Colin Kaepernick).

I don't know this draft has a decent crop of QB's, so we think at least.

I would love a trade down to acquire a second, and then pick up of Mallett in the first.

Exactly. I'm high on Colin Kaepernick, but not to the point of dismissing the other obvious talent in the draft. If Irlend wants Mallet he needs to go after him is all I'm saying. Trading down is cool, but if another team grabs him and that was your guy, are we settling for 2nd round talent yet again?

well the draft "experts" have mallet going in the 2d, so it doesn't seem plausible to me that someone would trade up to 15 to grab him. if we took him at 15 I think we'd be the only team that would spend a pick before 26 or 27 on him.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I totally agree. I dont think there is any way Mallett goes in the 1st round.

Well I think there are a couple QB's after Mallett that can be just as good.

So I woul trade down if available, and either nab him if he is still there, or take Ponder, Locker, or Kapernick if you like them instead.

Mallett does have the vib of Josh Freeman all over again though, meaning third picked QB that turn's into a franchise.

Unless they think he is their BEST option at QB. Be shame if New England grabbed him for the future , they have the Luxury with 6 picks in the first 3 rounds. Maybe Seattle at # 25. If thats your guy , at such an important posistion do you take the gamble no one else picks him up?

I think the difference between drafting a guy at 15 versus drafting him at 35 is the level of confidence you have in his ability to succeed in the NFL. The higher the draft pick, the higher your confidence in his ability to succeed. In some cases, the confidence in a certain player is a bit lower, which leads to him dropping to the next round. There are definitely cases where a team would gladly take a player at 35, but not even consider taking him at 15.
