I think it's a good move, except they now have 6 CBs under contract, and Allen isn't going to play special teams. If he plays well in camp, then Nate Ness and, maybe, Sapp, will be gone.

If Sapp doesn't play special teams (not sure if he does) Allen could beat him out. We'd more likely drop Sapp and his salary and keep the cheaper Ness.
As I recall, one of the reasons Sapp was acquired is because he was a "core special teamer" for Minnesota. I doubt any of these guys will be cut loose if they can play at a high level. With today's pass-happy offenses, more DB's are needed.SO, I can easily see the Dolphins keeping all 6 of these guys.
Where are all the experts that bashed the FO for the handling of this, and how they were being so cruel in how they handled Allen......
LOL, you guys are lost haters that obviously dont know to much about the business of NFL football...!!! Should I go back and find your guy's post, or should I let it lie... You can stand up now and eat some crow or I can serve it to you cold, your choice....lol

I bashed the FO because I thought they were going to let Allen walk. This is the first good move they've made in the off-season, so I can give them props for that.
I agree Montequi, I think they handled this well. He is not on another team playing for less right now, He is going to play on the Dolphins for less, any other way, and he would have been gone last year and forever....
While the move looks ok from a financial standpoint right now, the question of how this was handled is really about how much better the defense could have been with Allen playing the last 10 weeks of the 2010 season.

That's assuming (and a big assumption on your part) that he could play the last 10 weeks of the season. The fact that he re-signed tells me the Dolphins played this one right from the get go.
Now all we need for him is to stay healthy. Hopefully he doesnt play just one game and gets injured again. He is probably 100 percent healthy by now though.
