So Long, Dan Carpenter......

I would expect him to be released shortly.

Missing 3 makeable field goals in a game of this importance is unacceptable. I can forget the 61 yd as it was a desperation attempt, but not the others...

He's been slipping since the Raider game, so it should end here for him...

Why would they release him he is the only one who continually scores. Everyone has a bad day, this is what happens when your offense gets conservative and settles for FGs all the time. Henne and Henning will be gone and Tony might go also.

I don't know why we accept junk like this.

Get the job done or get done in...

So let me get this right, for like 5 weeks he was our entire offense, single handedly one 2-3 games for us and the best kicker in the entire league and after a game where he miss 4 field goals you ready to get rid of him.

Ok let me know what other team is going to put there kicker in a position to kick a 60,53, 48 and 48 yarder? Do you think these are chip shots? Coaches are supposed to put there players in a position to be successful, do you think they did that for him? You and this thread is a joke

There was some wind in his face on two of those tries, I sit right between the Goal Posts, but in warm ups he was missing badly on 40 yard tries and you could see he was struggling both in the warm up before the game and at halftime, and any Coach worth anything would see that and give it an honest try to go all out and not play for FG's when you see your kicker is off... but not this group...

The problem is that we have a terrible offense and a head coach that is content with kicking increasing longer field goals. In sparano's mind he has to only get to the opponents 40 and hey lets get concervative so we can kick a field goal. I blame the head coach. Carpenter is an elite kicker you make it sound like he is missing 25-30 yard field goals. You are the ultimate definition of a fan, you only think about what have they done lately and have no concept of talent or the big picture.

NO kicker is this league will be successful begin asked to kick from those distances. The bottom line is he should have not been in that position, and boy am I glad that you are not in control of anything pertaining to this team.

blame the coach, not the kicker. playing for 50 yard FGs in a game where your kicker is clearly off, that's on sparano/henning

He's had one bad game and quite a few great ones.

Welcome, Dan Carpenter. Sign him to an extension this week, while his asking price is probably lower.

I'd cut him tomorrow and sleep well after..

Trust me, It's only downhill from here with this kicker...

They all do this. Start missing some kicks and spiral into missing all kicks...

Which is precisely why on 3rd and 9, we should not have risked it all on a do or die pass for the first down. A dump off and a gain of five yards might have made the difference.

Sometimes you have a bad day ! I can recall Dan Marino having a few bad days and no one called to get rid of him !

Remember, his leg might be tired after all the kicks this year.
