Sparano KNOWS how to beat the Jets on the road....I'd really like to see that after losing to the Browns at home.

I'd like to see the franchise move to Raleigh. Miami has become the geigh and is no longer a football town

Miami was never a real football town. I didn't know what a football town was till I moved to Houston and then Denver.

Miami was a football town for a brief time in the early 70s (not U of M, because they stunk back then). This is mostly because the Dolphins were winning, but also because they were the only pro team in the entire state. And the ABA's Florida Floridians basketball team DOESN'T count smiling bouncing smiley

Our great Florida weather attracts northerners to South Florida to live, or they live here part time. That's why there are so many Jets, Giants, Eagles, Steelers and NE fans here. They typically remain loyal to their home team.

Florida's weather and environment affords people many things to do year round. That in itself has a tendency to lure people to those attractions rather than sit in the sun baking.

I wasn't at all surprised when the NFL strongly suggested that the ownership enclose the stadium with a lid. My guess is that more people--fans or not--would partake if the stadium was more inviting. Whether Mr. Ross and his celebrity investor eventually heed that suggestion--only time will tell.

But you just got through saying that S. Fl had great weather! If the weather is so great why ruin it by enclosing the stadium?

Global warming theories aside, the weather was just as good in the early 70s, and they had no trouble packing the Orange Bowl and its crappy bleacher seats full of fans back then.

Do most realize that Ross is the second wealthiest NFL owner next to Paul Allen of the Seahawks? He should have no trouble upgrading the stadium without his celebrity part owners

Oh look, you copied and pasted some negative statements from a comment section from a negative article.

You're so original.

The weather isn't great for sitting outside. Too hot, too humid. While I don't think that's really a problem for football games, there's a definite reason that the Marlins want a retractable roof.

At any rate, it's not as if the Dolphins are having problems selling out games. Even at 1-15, the stadium was filled. I'm not concerned about empty club seats, since those are pretty much just a huge waste of money.

at 1-15 the stadium was filled? what are you talking about? the phins almost never sell out in the sense that every seat is filled. certainly not when we were 1-15. fact is miami is really not a very good sports town. just look at the heat. anywhere else the arena would be filled. here, they need to beg people to show up when the game starts.

I believe that Miami is still the only team that ever had a "black-out" for a play-off game. The stadium is never filled. I've been to a few home games. Sitting in the stands on a sunny day with no breeze is absolutely brutal, meanwhile, some drunk is yelling in my ear wanting to get a "wave" started. No thanks, I'll watch it on the Sunday Ticket.

When did that happens...

They ussually sell out even every regular season homhome game by thursday.

When they do not show it on TV, it still sells out one way or another it just sells out on friday or saturday.

It's usual for some of the local radio or TV stations to buy up the remaining tickets at a discount to avoid the black-out. That happens quite a bit. SouthFloridaPhinFan can back me up on that.
The blacked out home game was during the Wanny debacle. I think it was against the Ravens but, not sure.

the stadium is so goofy and lame. playing that stupid jimmy buffet song after a score (totally out of place at a football game), though we haven't heard it much since we never score at home. And playing "we will rock you" after every devasting INT?? after the browns returned it to the 1 yd line with 45 sec left? who is running the music at that place? not to sound like dolphan1 but I went to see the phins play the pats in Foxboro last year and that was the nicest stadium I ever saw. Plus they played awesome tunes during breaks in the game and at kickoff that gets the crowd fired up. not "fins to the left fins to the right" crap, how lame!

I scare everyone, because no one has seen the light, except me baby.grinning smiley

That would be awsome too bad that I can't go tell Ross to let me run the entertainment section of the Dolphins we would be the baddest mofo's in the nfl, that don't take poopies from no one instead of the laughing stock with our stupid Jimmy Buffett crapola and our fruity tutti hispanc look.

We would be hardcore, and good hearted, not colorful, and disstaceful.

I remember back up in New England where you could walk up to the gate at game time and buy a great seat , There was no one there the place was empty, winning fixes those issues.... And Boston (Foxborough) is a great sports Town.... The Pats now win and there is a waiting list for season tickets...
