we are playing for 50 yard field goals. running on 1st and 2d down every play, usualy in the wildcat so they don't even have to THINK about the pass. bringing in thigpen and running him on a QB draw. Duh! let's run our running QB up the middle. we've sat on the ball since we got the first lead. we always lose this kind of game and if we lose this one it is 100% on the playcalling

Henning is the problem. Not Henne.

The most egregious example of this problem was when Bess had the big punt return, and we had a chance to go up by 16 points. That was the point where we brought in Thigpen, and ultimately lost yardage, forcing a 50 yard FG. That is the point in the game when we should have been looking to put the hammer down.

Agree then we bring in Henne, on third down put it all on him and if he does not do it, we jump on him...

I'm not in favor of sitting on a small lead with today's passing environment. Moreover, the best teams are not rattled when down 9 points going into the 4th. Fortunately, the Raiders are average. I prefer consistent, hard-hitting offensive plays that look to score until the clock runs out.

I'm pleased that Ricky was able to score a TD. That was unexpected given the running mode we were in and wonderful to see at last. That finished off the game for the Raiders. hot smiley
